He should, he is the only member on Strawhats who is useless and has no role to play. It is a blessing he even is still accepted as part of Strawhats when all of Strawhats has their own role and purpose. Losing Zoro won't get the strawhats to be handicapped. Jimbei for one, is already way more capable than Zoro as fighter both on land and water, and he can also Navigate and take the helm of the ship.

Lol are you for real? So what role does ussopp play? They have all their roles set by the author and zoro is the best mercenary of strawhats. Jimbe cannot stand a ground against zoro because his main role is to be a driver of sunny but he still have fights in him just not as strong as zoro's.

@@Maximo-chu huh?? idk if you're joking or not, zoro isn't supposed to cook, navigate or sum... he's a powerhouse, and also acts as 2nd in command or the vice captain. Sanji is a powerhouse, but is a cook while Zoro has "no roles", he's in charge of the crew if Luffy isn't there. If zoro isn't in the crew, they'll lack power to beat multiple enemies, that's why they're literally considered the monster trio of the crew because, the captain, the cook, and the 2nd powerhouse "vice captain" are powerful asf.

Its part of his philosophy of freedom. When most of his encounters were with villains, the ones he hated the most were those who say he "shouldnt but in with others business" and that people of power have set these selfish and exploitative rules that shouldnt be broken. This clip is so good, it's made even better by the fact that just before this, kaido mockingly told luffy to repeat what he said back during their last fight before kaido one-shotted him (that he's monkey d luffy and that he's going to become king of the pirates) which makes the delivery of him saying it again after hitting kaido with Red Roc so much more powerful.

I absolutely love the flashbacks we get right before Luffy lands the red roc because it's all from his perspective. Throughout the entire saga (and the series) he's been very happy go-lucky but these flashbacks really show us how emotionally effected hes been by all the events he's been a part of: visiting Oden's grave, finding the road poneglyph and hearing the situation from Kinemon, the intense loyalty the minks displayed during the Raizo is safe moment, the tragedy Pedro faced all so that the Straw Hats could move forward and reunite with Sanji and go to Wano, watching Yasuie get executed while the town that loved him could only laugh, and seeing Momo finally reach his breaking point in Udon and declare that rebellion has been reborn. Each moment effected Luffy deeply, and only increased his determination to utterly destroy Kaido and Big Mom. All that rage and determination represented in this opening punch. Just brillant.

In One Piece, willpower is everything. The moment Kin’emon and the Akazaya Nine started living for Oden and followed his shadow, instead of carving out their own paths, they lost. Kaidou wants to conquer the world and start the greatest war ever. The Akazaya just want Oden to rest in peace. They’re not remotely the same.

I thought the title was mispelled, but in mythology, the Roc is a giant bird that is able to lift elephants with it's talons. It's a crazy jump from Hawk to Roc, but I think it's cool that they did this.

Makes sense. Without the fire, that attack is usually called his Elephant Gun as it is bigger than his usual pistol. So, since that becomes Red Hawk with fire, it makes Sense that the Elephant Gun becomes a bird of Similarly massive size to an elephant

The Roc is also based on Garuda, a giant bird that had an equally giant serpent as an enemy, so it fits perfectly that Luffy used it to punch the guy that can transform into a dragon.

What I loved about this scene is Law just did exactly what Luffy asked Law. No complaint, no talk back just waiting for it and did it. Also the sudden hint for both Luffy and Zoro having advance observation Haki way over Law and Kidd is a nice subtle touch, especially that Luffy's is shown to be more advance than Zoro's.

I think the most beautiful thing about this scene is one thats overlooked, or rather, not articulated. Before the epic "Red Roc" reveal, the flashback brings us to the climax in an interesting way: Shifting our view from third person, to Luffy's first person. Combined with the color contrast, and the parallax effect, we're taken from high stakes emotion as a viewer, to actually feeling how important this is for Luffy. It makes it all the more satisfying when the slow motion shot of Red Roc in all its glory pauses, before hitting Kaido and putting off all the power of a small scale tactical nuke. This scene was gorgeous in the manga, but after looking back to compare, this one of the few times the anime properly outshines its source material. Bravo Toei. I'm not a fan of how you adapt this story, but this time....you got it perfect

The way they choose to adapt this really brings down the series score. Despite not having that many fillers and no ending song, they chose horrible pacing… I hope eventually they adopt modern adaptation standards, fat chance but I can dream.

the effortfullness of every frame, every reference, every chosen color, every sound the voice actors make, the infinite rewatchability of not even 5 minutes of a scene of every Important and deeply cared about shot, impeldly contransting everything we one piece fans dislike in the very same series, the reaction of every character looking at something incredible that happens now godspeed fast and not to mention oda's work itself just taking the fact that kaido doesn't even really lost anything but was more shocked than anything with all of that as well as luffy who just throwing a fraction of all his power himself can''t begin to describe how much I like this holy shit this is the definition of caring and legendary you just simply COULD NOT make it better, ever, at anything I'm so fucking glad I have ever decided to embark in this saga back at school almost half of my life time ago, at this point this is highly up there between my reasons to live

From Kine'mon asking Luffy to carry Wano on his back. Going from Hyogoro mentioning that haki is referred to as ryou in the land of Wano. Kine'mon telling them about how Orochi and Kaido murdered their lord Kozuki Oden. To the time where Raizo was announced safe on Zou. Then showing us the live execution of Yasuie. Then the whole Upon prison with Hyogoro stating the flames of rebellion never died out. Then simultaneously showing aspects of the war currently happening in the castle of Onigashima itself with Luffy's quotes " why can't an outsider save Wano!?" " No one deserves to be laughed at as they die" "you're the leader right? What do you want to do" and all of that being brought to a close with Luffy laying down the cleanest fucking hit on Kaido. I ain't afraid to say this but I was sobbing throughout all of it. That entire scene was fucking powerful.

If y'all one piece fans get angry every time a person says "mid piece" rewatch 1015 over and over and over again while saying to yourself "what if the other legendary scenes were animated/directed this way?" Iconic doesn't always equal to good. OP anime is suffering from shit pacing and recycled OSTs and SFX instead of making a whole ass majestic remix like this one. Ishitani directing any OP episode will shut the mouths of haters.

My personal favourite part is when Hyogoro is talking about Ryuo and we see the Haki flow through Luffy's body, through his scar and into his arm. That's the most beautiful part of this scene to me. Luffy will unlock another level to his haki. Only after that, his punches would have some good effect on Kaido but he will again lose and drown in the sea. Kaido is a tank and complete monster. Truly one of the moments that no other anime can usually deliver. Even surpassing it's own source material. This is now the 4th time this arc i've had to stop and say i have a new favorite scene. Toei just keeps upping the ante every episode, and after seeing the last few manga chapters, the future is bright. They finally have earned my respect back after the terrible pacing of whole cake. wano is here the perfect amount of pacing with Oda's writing and even though its the longest arc it certainly has been nothing but enjoyable to watch!

Red Roc basically represents so many things. One of which is a payoff to Ace's punch to Kaidou's dragon statue. They are fire fists and both punch on the left cheek. Truly a masterpiece in a single chapter, and I'm glad this episode did it justice.

Disagree takes away the logic and sense from the anime, i started disliking it when haki turned all kind of colours like what is this bs someone has blue hake than purple haki than pink haki i dont get it same as for 1:00 like wtf is this, cool that it is not 1999 anymore but why u have to over the top animate it when there is no explanation for it i always loved one piece for its story not the animations and that takes away the story for me just a bit, or they need to have a good explanation of everything at the end but 1:00 is unexplainable.

I absolutely luv this scene, no matter how many times I watch it, I get chills. Plus Zoro’s smile basically yells ‘That’s My Captain 😁’. Technically I’m still on episode 96 but can’t wait to get to Wano Arc.

For anyone wondering, the score they used before We Are is called Memories of Brother. They used it few times before, Sabo's Rev. Army training, Akazaya 9 training, and Yamato flashback. There's probably more.

This has to be one of the greatest scenes in one piece. With the awesome luffy entrance previously, the walk past kaido and big mum, the emotional moment with kinemon and his classic king of the pirates speech at the end, this moment is just so awesome. The high quality animation also made it even better

That Red Roc is like Luffy telling Kaido "Here's the accumulation of my adventure. Have a taste." The use of "We Are" is such a good move 💯🔥

You can tell at 1:56 Big Mom is really surprised because she has never seen anyone being able to hurt Kaido let alone knock him down to the ground. She is also surprised that Luffy was the to knock down Kaido, because when she saw him at the tea party and he wasn’t able to hurt her and when he said he was going to defeat Kaido she laughed at the idea of Luffy beating him. But after seeing Luffy knock him down she is both in shock and disbelief that Luffy is now capable of defeating Kaido now. And after she asks Kaido what is he doing and says that she can’t believe he got knocked down and Luffy lands on the ground and he says his name and saying he will defeat them and saying he will be king of the pirates you can see the fear in her face that Luffy is now strong enough to defeat both her and Kaido. And that smile from Zoro is the best part because he is proud of his captain getting stronger and getting the power he needs to defeat an emperor

Unfortunately they can't realistically do this every episode, looks like a movie. But it's nice to know they can pull out all the stops every so often for important moments
