Okay I’m just going to say it. This is the most realistic video of the operation of a B747 that I’ve ever seen. The takeoff was remarkable..just like being there again. The cockpit is literally perfection. The external views are exactly as they appear in real life. The approach transition for right downwind..is just as they do on arrival..leaving you always high. I was a B747 Captain for over 20 years and this was just fantastic. One year ago this month..my airline career came to an end after 41 years, 35 as Captain. This video make me want to buy a computer..and whatever add on you have as I’d love to relive some of these wonderful moments. Thanks so very much for your efforts in providing such a tremendous and realistic video.
Unfortunately the B747 in the Flight Simulator doesn’t have much system depth. I’d rather recommend the A320 with the FlyByWire. Anyway, still looking super realistic
@@Capt_Tarmac Thank you for your service to the airline industry. Because of you, people were able to travel to their destination safely thousands of times.
Compliments very nicely with the live broadcasts done from LAX. Amazing level of photo realism I've never seen. Same route over downtown and looping back I did myself a few times long ago on direct flights from Europe like this one. View towards Hollywood hills when coming in as I remember it.
Cool vid 👍. Though i was hugely disappointed that there was no meal service or drinks service, and considering I was seated in first class 🙁. But the first class suite was very comfy. Im just glad I had a big bag of M&Ms in my carry on bag 🤣
Beautiful work. Only wish the ground crew would've brought an actual loader for the cans instead of a belt loader. Also, would be nice when MSFS adds actual wing walkers and Ramp Agents to receive the flight.
Superb, love the all the graphical realism, especially the wing flex from the internal view. From about 16:38 the engine strakes, with light coming from the right, appear to not be physically anchored to the nacelles. The other observation I'd make is that on departure why aren't LNAV, VNAV and FD armed? Were you using the AI pilot function?
for accuracy we dont park 747-8 and a380 at klax G155 because of size 159 156 154 152 150 148 can accommodate a380 and 747-8 it gets even more complicated at 130 132 134
I'm adding my high praise to others' as a gobsmacked admirer of Captain Tom's talent in presenting, hands down, the best flight sim videos ever seen on the internet. It takes not only a lot of time to produce and edit something of this incredible standard, but also a special x-factor to frame these stunning visuals and to create a captivating narrative - especially in this case without words. Other dedicated RU-vid video producers across many interests could learn much. Keep going Captain! you have set the highest bar and I wouldn't be surprised if you were shoulder-tapped by film industry movers.
Too bad the controller support for this game fucking sucks, keybindings are broken and you cannot change the deadzone of the sluggish cursor making menu navigation a PITA. You'd think a year down the line they'd have their shit together.
@MajorTom Are the sounds in the video from the Salty 747-8 mod or do we have to download an additional soundpack? I know the passengers and things are edited but I am referring to the aircraft sounds. Also not to be critical of your amazing videos, which by the way I am going to subscribe to this amazing channel, but I noticed your start sequence was 3,4 and 2, then 1 whereas in real life it is 3 and 4 then 2 and 1 (3 and 4 together and 2 and 1 together) based off watching Lufthansa 747 videos and 747-8 videos because I noticed a "weird" start sequence in this video. 😀👍
The sound are a sound mod from FTsim. And I know certain airlines and planes can be started certain ways but in this case I just decided to wing it. Thanks for the tip though :)
Nicely done, However during takeoff and landing slight drifting was visible, I'd say you put the throttle to atleast 75 and when you're around mid-runway you put it up to 90-95 , this way you won't drift, Other than that it was amazing
Realistic except for the belt loader being used to unload the fwd hold😂 you would also never walk up to a “cold and dark” aircraft at stand. That’s what the technician is for! You would also never start up at a gate position (maybe one engine if APU is inop)
You are the best youtuber according to MSFS Videos.. your sound effects are great! Also the subtitles about places, or any information is helpful and nice
Yes, but to properly get the full experience, you need to stay up for two days straight, eat the worst food you can find for all your meals, and isolate yourself from friends and family for two weeks straight. THEN you'll really feel the realism.
How can I do that there are more Lufthansa Planes in Frankfurt bescause it Is Lufthansas hub or mor a380s and 747 at the international terminal. Btw awesome video.👍☺️
Great Video that brings a lot of emotions to me !!! 23 years I was a flight attendant and the 747-8 was my baby and passion . The evil of climate extremists and Coronna madness took my passion away !!! This gave me really the feeling I had and was like I was flying to La ❤️ Even the voice of the Captain and Purser sound like people I knew I flew with 🥲
COVID definitely had an impact on our favourite industry, but it’s gonna take more than that for the queen of the skies to disappear. Long live the 748i/748f
I'm an international Qantas pilot, and to be honest this is a glorious and realistic video, Thank you so much for making this mate. 🙌😊 (FAREWELL TO THE QANTAS 747)
Somebody please be cold hard honest - is MSFS any good for serious, study level airline ops? The visuals lend one to temptation, but I want to fly like I'm working as an airline pilot including preflight, power up, flight planning, fully integrated system functionality, navigation, et al.
Nope.. super serious people should look at Xplane 11 ( 12 is coming out soon ) . It’s the most realistic.. even though msfs is improving xplane is always better for study level.. Even though graphics are not half good.
@@ViceWave249 no now the phonic a320 is more detailed then x plane mods. And now the pmmdg 737 and phonic a320, md 80, bae, and Connie these are all study level planes so yes there are some recent study level planes.
What a JOKE of a start-up... MFS is just a graphics experience. 0 simulation. A 'buy and play' game... It'd take you much longer in a real sim such as X-Plane or P3D...
I'm using the default 747-8 with the Salty simulations mod. I also use a sound pack from FTsim and use AIG AI Traffic. Those are the main addons that'll get you started :)
The more i play with the simulator , the more i start to believe you need to be a pro pilot in order to land that monster. I strugle with them little Airbus Neos 320s and seeing these 747-8s is just oit of this world for me.
Bro i gotta ask, so i compare my pc specs with yours, my pc on paper were pretty similar but mine might be a little stronger CPU based, however, i lag and stutter like its unbelievable! How r u getting such smooth game play in 4k? Im running the following: RTX 4070 12gb, i7-13700k, 32GB DDR4, Asus Prime b660-a, 850w power supply, game is on a 750gb Samsung SSD, deepcool LS570 liquid cooler, all on a MSI 32” 4k with a 144hz
This is incredible. It sounded to me like the APU was running all the way through taxiing though. Could just be me, or that it's just like that on the 747 hell. I'm no jumbo pilot.
Looks amazing but silly little things like thrust reversers and U/C travel ...... way too fast. I don't get how poeple make something breath taking and miss simple things. The best sim out there for sure.
Hi, Beautifull Video, the best of ALL MSFS vids I've seen so far ( and that's a LOT). Cann I ask you if you build your own pc, or if you bought it ready with those specs ? how much did it cost if I may ask ? because I am looking to save for a new pc, but i'd like the best specs of course, for Airline simming ( not GA or bush or anything like that)
I built this pc throughout the years and am making upgrades every so often. The total price of my pc now is around $1800 and thats from just saving up and adding a new part about once a year. I was patient, saved money, and worked hard to where I wanted my pc to be :)
Perfect.... but.. the sound from the 747 on ground isn’t the real sound, thé landing is too soft, no sound when touch the ground, no smoke fron the tires.... update welcome
hi I love your channel and I watch your channel every day I'm obsessed with planes and I know every part of a plane. my fav plane is the airbus a380 and I am only 9
MSFS 2020 rules :) There is no possibility that P3D can make something to achive realism like in MSFS. I used to fly on P3D but now after 1.5 year it looks weird to me not bad but P3D after 4.5 version messed a lot and went in wrong way. Clouds was better before , dark cockpits and dim airplanes lights with agn from FSX. But P3D has a lot of nice aiplanes and more detailed textures sometimes meantime MSFS has the same runways even on payware addones. And what for P3D made black I forgot this word outfit the blue one was much better and luck of inbuild filters that could make overall look more realistic. Future looks dark like their shame and I thing market will marginalize it and support will be finished one day. Sad but true. Still flat airports ? I can`t believe it..
Oh so y’all think it’s fun to be working in the rain well it’s not it’s terrible u get wet u get smack with the water and most of all u can’t see shit while driving unless ur driving a car
Ihad to put planes from Miami Washington Los Angeles Flórida Las Vegas Across the large Marshal airport international connection airport of são Paulo every day thanks 🇧🇷🇺🇸🇨🇦
Hey Tom:) Can you explain me how you switch the cameras of the plane (Did you cut?) and what's your screen recorder and editor pls?🥺 Cuz I want to start recording my vids
Actually pilots are "encouraged" to make firm landings whenever possible. Dragging the tyres along the runway for a "greaser" wears them out more quickly and displeases the airline bean counters.
I don't know where you heard that, but suffice to say it isn't accurate. Firm landings damage the tyre walls and cause tyre creep, reducing their life span. You're not reducing wear on the tread by having a firm landing either, it increases wear.
Tom, seeing how good your videos are, I have always wanted to know which aircraft and which airline you fly. I mean I have always wanted to become a pilot since I was three and now I’m 15 , still following my dream
