Lugano can be found on the shores of Lake Lugano in the Italian speaking part of Switzerland. It's a beautiful setting with the alps and the lake, and a fabulous place to visit.

Wow this gorgeous video almost slipped by us! Absolutely stunning place, that church was so impressive, the narrow streets surrounded by mountains views are incredible, beautiful town/city. Lovely land train! Your favourite looks beautiful wow that lake surrounded by the mountains is lush! This is a gorgeous lake which we have only seen from above so nice to come along with you on your journey! Funicular was cool! Have a great week ❤

Lugano was the first part of Switzerland that I'd ever seen so was somewhat spoiled when it came to spectacular landscapes. Some of the houses high up on the edge of the lake makes me wonder how they were built and how people get up there!

Its so beautiful here with the lovely mountains and lakes. I love the architecture and the 16tth century church was so beautiful especially inside. Would love to ride the train near the lake and do a boat ride like you did. Beautiful tour :) ~ Anna

Lugano sits in a spectacular locations. I love riding the boats on the lakes locally but in Lugano my favourite excursion was the ride on the funicular up San Salvatore. Nice video to see as we have not been back here for about 20 years.

Switzerland is my favourite country in Europe, the scenery is just wonderful. Just be prepared that it's expensive! Even when I visit Lugano I actually stay across the border in Italy and then just catch the train in.

What a charming town in such a beautiful location. Loved the square and beautiful buildings. Do scooters have brakes? 😁😁Would love to take the boat ride on Lake Lugano and the incline train. I've seen a few that work that way, but have never ridden one. Thanks so much for bringing us along.

There's now an annoying version of scooter, the electric scooter. They have accelerators (throttles) and brakes and people who ride them zip along the footpath(sidewalk) in between everyone walking. The rental scooters don't have that much power, but so many people seem to have their own and race through the cities. They're a menace!! I used to complain about people on segways, thankfully they seem to be out of fashion. Now it's the speeding scooters!

The view when you exit the train station is wonderful and it makes you realise straight away what a beautiful place it is you're visiting. The church interior is gorgeous, I didn't film the outside as the church was covered in scaffolding! The exterior was being restored. Thank you for your comment and subscribing.

When I woke up on the train we were pulling into Lugano. A beautiful sunny morning in the winter. It was like I'd gone to heaven after the horrific four hours in the hell hole of the Milano train station the previous night. Much like the droogs in "Clockwork Orange" those young Italian goons were terrorizing people just for the hell of it. Animals.

I’m going to Lugano for a day and stay in the Ferry is what I was thinking to do… I loved to hear that you did and took 2,5 hrs. Anyway, my question is how I ask when I buy the tickets that I want to stay in the ferry all the time till return? I just buy one ticket and let they know or I have to buy round trip? They understand English, so I can explain the situation? Sorry all this questions, but I was so happy to see your video and learn that you did exactly what I had in mind. I just want to be in the water all the time without visit any other city!!:) Thank you so much 😊

You buy just one ticket for the round trip I think it was 45Swiss Francs. I just stayed on the boat and didn't get off at any of the stops. I caught the ferry at 9.50am and then we were back in Lugano at about 12.30pm. I'm sure at the ticket office they speak English, I speak Italian so I did the asking about the trip and buying the ticket in Italian. There were Americans on the boat so I'm assuming they were asking in English. The ticket office is by the lake, opposite the old fashioned fountain.The boat is behind on the lake. It's just a ferry not a tourist boat so if you want to bring food and drink you have to buy it beforehand and bring it with you. There's nothing to buy on the boat. Hope all this helps.
