Mr Lugansky was locked and loaded. Not just with technique, but beautifully judged dynamics. Though not always pristine playing from the orchestra, they had their moments, and contributed positively. Lovely playing by both pianist and orchestra at 10:21-11:02...beautifully mysterious. Mr Lugansky's cadenza is all powerful, yet with unique dynamic touches. Terrific. I really enjoyed this performance...quite characterful. Thanks for posting.
LOL @ 15:00 I can't decide if this is EPIC or trainwreck 😂 I vote EPIC live performance as Lugansky road the roller coaster of the orchestra and finished like a champ. Love him !! 👏🏼
Imagine having perfect pitch and note sequence memory, most likely photographic memory, neurological fine motor skills and muscular memory for exceptional keyboard technique, and add a touch of creative musicianship, analysis of the score, and probable inspiration from the audience for spilt second unique expressions; not to mention the driven energy of countless practice time.
There seems to be a tradition on RU-vid that you need a conductor with mad professor hair in the Prok 1 (see Argerich's performance from a La Roque ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JqCwQ9clHece.html) Lugansky proves that the pianist only needs mad fingers, the only hair-raising neccessary being that of the audience.
