Always loved how "thus the earth shall turn to ash" is a Double Entendre. The first interpretation most people would have is that, the world will end and be reduced to nothing but ashes on the wind, but the REAL meaning? Fate will literally turn to a person named Ash, who will save everyone. Older Pokemon movies had such a way with telling a story. The movie also had perfect timing to be released. Everyone thought the world was going to end in the Year 2000, and Pokemon decided "yea this movie is about the world literally about to end, let's do it." and then gave us the masterpiece that is Lugia's Song, which has found it's place inside the minds of everyone for over 20 years.
this was the only pokemon movie my dad took me too see. i remember being in the theater and when Lugia finally showed, i heard my dad whisper damn thats a big bird. Thanks for reminding me of that.
The anime may be childish and most of the times silly, but you can’t deny the movies being philosophically deep and damn beautiful, especially the first movie and the second part with Mewtwo.
I think that for this film it is due to the very origin of Lugia I talk about its conception, and the conception of the film around all that After film 2 few films were in a more mature and emotional area Maybe the movie with Darkrai, even the one in the Jungle I don't remember the name of the pokemon . But not many other pokemon movies
And even some of the anime. It was one of the Journeys series. I think ultimate. There's an episode with Mewtwo and it's absolutely beautiful. Definitely worth a watch
Sounds beautiful. I was flooded with nostalgia remembering how exciting it felt when seeing Lugia come out of the water column for the first time in the movie, and the almost hopeless feeling during the fight against the other three birds. All of that captured in this.
Man... I really need to take up piano again. I should never have stopped all those years ago, because it really is the most beautiful instrument to me.
I came across this video by chance and I must say that I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT regret listening to your work. Lugia's song has always been my favorite music from Pokémon movies, and you managed to enhance a few things that I already found perfect, just for that I would say bravo.

I just want to say that first of all this artwork is beautiful. Second I want to thank you and the community for remembering Lugia and the movie. I mean its over 24 years ago but real pokemon fans never forget how epic and beautiful the old movies were. Even now after 24 years I can not forget how impactful the movies and the music are.

This was such a beautifully played rendition of Lugia's Theme, which I think is easily one of the best and most iconic Pokémon themes. Wow. The first phrase instantly took me back to when I first watched the movie so long ago. They really don't make Pokemon movies as emotional as they used to.
I have my grandmothers keyboard and I off and on debated ever learning, thanks to you and this incredible sheet music I'm definitely for a fact eventually going to make sure I learn how to someday. I love this version of the song so much brother. I don't consider the original song bad but I love this version of the song so much more than the original one.

All tho Lugia‘s song sounds similar to Sadness and Sorrow and the beginning parts. They are two different pieces towards the middle and end. Don't want to be the one to point out this. But! This was Sadness and Sorrow.
