Hello friends, admirers of the wonderful Dayton and Trilex wheels! Here in Brazil in the 70s, 80s, 90s until 2000, our trucks used this type of wheels a lot! I personally like them a lot! They are super strong and add a lot of charm to the Truck and Truck. In the 80s I worked at the Swedish automaker SCANIA, precisely assembling these Trilex or Radiated wheels as they are called here in Brazil. Smaller trucks used 5-spoke trucks and heavy-duty 6-spoke trucks. Nowadays it is practically impossible to see new trucks.

And also the rim has two stubs that keeps the wheel from spinning and breaking the valve stem.

You should use a breaker bar with the stud removal tool. Less likely to spin.😉 Also, if your wedges are bottomed out, you should take off the inner wheel and inspect the lips on the spider for cracks/missing chunks. Can't tell you how many times I've seen someone put a wider spacer only to have their inner wheel pop over the back of the spider... Excellent video as usual, fellow tire guy 😎

Very informative. Can you show how you true the dayton style wheel set so it dosent look like its wobbling going down the road? I pull intermodal what's the rule for tube/bias tubeless/ radial. That's 10x20/11.22.5/11R22.5. Thanks again. A good tire tech is hard to find. I love your videos.
