I love the line, "You weren't supposed to run away from King Boo like a filthy coward!", because it shows how Luigi can be a foil in the littlest way. Mario would've stood up and fought against King Boo, but ultimately would have failed and get captured since he didn't have the Poultergust (or a Super Star, if were including the logic from other Mario games in this one). But Luigi running away from King Boo in the beginning allowed him to get to the Poltergust, and allowed him to save his friends & family. Showing how Luigi's fear can be his greatest weapon.
I totally agree. If we look at the Mario RPG's, Luigi's always seemed like the brainier sibling, and somtimes the smartest thing you can do is to run away.
She's this year's breakout character. The only switch game she could show up now is Mario golf or a next Mario party. We already have a kart, tennis, and a party, so unlikely she can show up there.
1:18 Honestly the design Hellen has reminds me of Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmatians. In honesty, I think she should’ve been the main villain. She has that personality with her obsession with Make-Up, I also really liked the scene where she realizes she’s in her ugly form and quickly puts it on in a panic. THAT is what I call a ghost with a unique personality.
she IS the main villian, King boo is the epilogue, Hellen challenges every skill you have (aside from dark-light, I wish she also turned invisible when her health drops below one hundred) while king boo is the classic dodgem-smack-three-times and win (which isn't bad by any means) she is the driving force, her cat antagonizes you in later floors, and at the end of every major boss you see HER rather than the king. just because king boo is the final boss does not mean she isn't the main antagonist.
Mason Jones Sorry, but she’s more like a secondary villain. King Boo has been the main antagonist for 2 games, and Hellen was just someone who wanted to free King Boo and this he centered his plan around her hotel trap. I still wish she was the main villain, but it’s what you believe. What I said is what I believe justifies a villain as being the main villain rather than a secondary.
Can we agree that Helen Gravely should start appearing in other Titles? (I really like her character and hope this isn't the only game she is in) Like Mario Kart?, Or Mario Party?, Tennis, etc.
A few tips: 1. When one of the light things are glowing, you can flash them to get more health 2. Don't waste time waiting for the lasers to move so that Gooigi can slip through, use the pipes on the walls 3. If Hellen approaches you before all lasers are off, you can burst to temporarily keep her away. She'll come back for another opportunity shortly after you've turned all the lasers off 5. It's best to quickly recall Gooigi once the water comes. Also blow (ZL) when switching the gates in the bottom, or else Gooigi will just be pushed to the wrong side (wasted so much of my time because of that) 6. Stick close to the mechanism thingy when the red lasers come, you'll less likely be hit. It's also best to stick near where the singular red laser started (not on the side it's rotating though!) as it will stop on that side
She reminds me of the tf2 announcer who also kinda looks similar when she's mad. Also her name is helen too. She also sits in an office that has a bunch of monitors so she can watch what luigi is doing. Helen in tf2 also does this with the teams. It's pretty neato.
See, as much as I like Hellen Gravely as a villain, I think this fight could have been way better. IMO, the problem is that this fight is more designed for co-op play than single play, which is fine IF you have someone who can play Gooigi. If you don't have someone who can play Gooigi for you, huge stretches of the fight are going to be spent fooling around with the switches below the arena as Gooigi while Luigi just sleeps standing up. For this fight to even be possible to win as a single player, Hellen has to spend a lot of time just floating around and cackling during the colored laser segment, taking her sweet time even getting close to Luigi. True, the player has to keep active switching between Luigi and Gooigi, so they're at least being engaged. But when Hellen spends the majority of the colored laser segment floating around laughing and NOT attacking Luigi when she absolutely could, it makes her seem less threatening than she should. How might it be improved? Well, maybe Hellen could have different AI or even a different battle when facing one player vs. two.
See I had the opposite problem with this fight, every time I tried to switch to Gooigi, Helen would immediately attack me which forced me to switch back to defend myself.
I am a single player. It takes lots of effort and patience to beat this boss. I had to keep switching between Luigi and Gooigi, so furious lol. Feel like my IQ is getting higher now.
in a world with multiple races of mushroom people, frog-dinosaurs, whatever the hell Waluigi is (some sort of chaos god I imagine) THIS is what you question? but seriously I thought it was funny too.
🎵 Hellen Gravely 🎵 Hellen Gravely 🎵 If she isn't scary 🎵 No evil could be 🎵 To see her is to suddenly go 🎵 Eeeeeeee!! 🎵 Hellen 🎵 Hellen 🎵 She's mangled deep inside like Unagi 🎵 Look out for Hellen Gravely 🎵 At first, you think that Hellen is quite human 🎵 But when the night sets in, it fades away 🎵 You come to realize 🎵 You've seen her kind of eyes 🎵 Staring at you in a dark hallway 🎵 This bloodthirsty ghoul 🎵 With its heart of tar 🎵 She oughta be sucked up 🎵 And stuffed in a jar 🎵 The world was beautiful, and then we see 🎵 Hellen, Hellen Gravely
1:38 I'm curious why she's saying that Luigi took everything from her, even though she assisted in helping King Boo kidnap Luigi's friends. Well Whip-de-fucking do, you took Luigi's friends away from him, you damned buffoon!
A alternate ending: Helen: You took everything from me! Luigi: I don't even know who you are! Hellen: You will. And then Luigi gets captured. As someone who is obsessed by ghosts, I would like a ending like this. Nintendo really should let you switch sides.
does she remind anyone else of the tf2 administrator? edit: think about it. room looks similar to the one miss pauling saw when she died similar appearance, both with make-up and without (normal age vs relying on australium) condescending everyone hellen vs helen voice is kinda similar
1:29 Me:Hey!!! 😠 Nobody can call Luigi a Coward He is brave to save his brother 3 times (this would be his 4th ) *Including the remake from the game cube*
I think it's funny that she has all these crazy and high-tech weapons, but her only actual way of hurting you herself is just an ornate mirror, a symbol of frail vanity, that gets easily stuck, alluding to the fact that she's only as powerful as those that are around her, like King Boo, not by her own volition... I'm probably overthinking this game lol.
I love how unique the boss fights are in this game. It seemed like every main boss would throw in some kind of new wrinkle. I hated this boss fight though, not because it was a bad fight necessarily, but just because I found it difficult to move Gooigi underground, while trying to keep Luigi away from the lasers up top. Thankfully, I eventually did beat it though!
Its a great boss fight and I love how it tests your ability to multitask as well as your ability to clear the lower floor as fast as possible, I juts wish it didnt drag as much as it can. It is really easy to enter a position where you cant disable the barriers faster than they can reactivate and 600hp is a bit much given how much you need to do to set it up but it is great to have such a nuanced and unique fight.
I tired playing this boss fight with my uncle (who never played luigi mansion at all).......to say the least it was like trying to tell a toddler how to drive
The fear isn’t cool, but when we use it in the right moment, it’s can be useful. HELEN DOESN’T UNDERSTAND WHAT THE FEAR CAN DO!!! That’s his determination, his fear and his motivation who helped Luigi to fight King Boo for rescue Mario. If he did that twice, he can do that every time. Work do the force!
I defeated her today after her killing me twice (without Polterpup's bones) though she "killed" me about six more times after that, but Polterpup's bones revived me after I'd purchased them from Gadd and the battle could continue. But that's the thing, Luigi IS going to get hurt badly and is a sacrificial lamb as Gooigi goes underneath the floor and deactivates the colored laser switches. But neither Luigi nor Googi move fast enough to avoid entirely the lasers. Luigi WILL take several hits as Googi does his thing. And of course, there's Hellen giving you a good whack with her mirror. So, without Polterpup's bones, you WILL die for good and need to start over and over again. But I do love her, I hated to fight her, almost, lol.. She is so fierce and beautiful.
Hellen Gravely: You ransacked my hotel, captured my staff with that strange vacuum of yours...and to top it all off...you kidnapped my sweetie, my little darling... My precious Polterkitty! Me: You deserved it, Hellen. You kidnap my friends? I'll ransack your hotel!
Seeing comments in the section say that she’s a good villain when this woman is an absolute coward using machines to fight you rather than giving her epic powers like some of the ghost bosses have she’s just a lame frustrating puzzle boss ugh
I just beat this game with co-op and I swear, I can't imagine how you'd do the last couple floors of this game by yourself without getting immensely frustrated, ESPECIALLY Vs. Hellen and King Boo
You Can....i succed to take more money and stuff when you selected you'r game when you had liste of différent save point place you choose Helen place before the door and you Can return in the other hotel floors(sorry for my english)
If any boss in this game screamed multiplayer it was this boss. For real I had a hard time trying to juggle both characters at the same time for this fight.
Hellen is not King Boo’s girlfriend. She’s just helping him. However she is a big fan of King Boo, and really wants to impress and be of good use to him. So, she possibly has an unrequited crush on him.
