I remember seeing the commercial with the kid and the Poltergust. Dark Moon was unlike anything I’d ever seen, having grown up on Mario Kart and New Super.
Bro I think that commercial is the reason I was scared of the game, in a way. I can only recall having 2 “nightmares” of the game (the parenthesis are there because they dreams were just the ghosts vibing in my home) But I also Remember I only played the 1st mission, Because I got comfortable with it, and was scared. This meant that I couldn’t play ScareScraper on my own File. So I simply used my Dads File :]. But This was one of my First 3ds games, and before that point, Mario was my favorite character. It was while playing still, but as I got a bit older and noticed things, I started liking Luigi more. He’s still my favorite. Luigi Numba One! But I think I was afraid of advancing in the game because of the thought of ghosts haunting my home. I guess I didn’t want the weight on my shoulders to like save the house ig? I lost the Cartridge a while back, I hope it’s still in my house 😞. I got the HD the day it came out.
Aw man, that first ad is super nostalgic! I remember seeing it and getting so damn hyped about the game, and being really annoyed because they aired it for a good month or so before the game was out... needless to say, I got it at launch and absolutely loved it. Is it a departure from the first one in terms of gameplay and atmosphere? In my opinion, sure. But its a lot of fun nonetheless. I really had a lot of good times with it... even if I never got around to finishing it!
There is one more commercial I remember seeing back in 2013 but its lost and it's Luigi's mansion dark moon commercial on regal entertainment group even have new animations for the ghosts and luigi before and after the commercial. And the commercial is the same as the tv version. I remember seeing this before monsters University I think.
That first ad was my first introduction to Luigi’s Mansion, and it managed to hold onto my brain for like 8 years till I watched it again. So excited for the HD remake to bring the nostalgia back into the spotlight :P
