I imagine it was hard to control because it wasn't the standard bumper cars but more like a huge air hockey table with a bunch of pucks (cars) on it. You can't really control something that is propelled by air vents.

ZackFireX difficulty maintaining the ride and the fact that it blew air, which could've caused damage to certain parts is what caused Luigi's Flying Tires to get torn down and replaced with this ride

The tires were a fun concept like the old flying saucers ride from Tomorrowland (if anyone here is old enough to know about those) but they suffered from the same problem: constant break-downs, malfunctions, and damaging wear to the vehicles by every entry/exit step. With the shocking amount of time this ride was closed down for repairs, it makes sense to me why they would just replace it with another Cars-themed ride.

Dolphinmom Cca a computer controls the path that the cars follow and motors spin little wheels under the cars to make them move. This is tricky, since they have to move rhythmically to the music

It's actually cutting edge ride technology, even if the end result looks normal. Notice that none of the cars are on a track, they are each individually controlled by computer.

Hi Highlight. I'm sorry for my no good comment! I have never seen or heard this ride operate and yes I appreciate it is not on a track like Rise Of The Resistance. My appreciation and viewpoints have changed in recent times with Disney! Briefly, the very last trip I took to Disneyland was among the most magical for me! That day, I was running on 2 hours of sleep because I did not know how it would work out to ride Rise Of The Resistance. I drove like a mad man in the middle of the night only to arrive 3 hours before the park opened. After it all happened, I learned that you must be in the park and have the Disney app ready to ride Rise Of The Resistance. On the exact minute of 09:00, I kept punching "Boarding Group"!!! It did nothing!! Then I tried "My Status" then it allowed me to enter the que. In just a few seconds, I got one of the last groups #120 and did not get on until 19:00 which is 7pm. I really appreciated the ride! Also that night, I saw Mickey Mixed Magic in Rivers Of America with water fountains. It meant a lot to me! I also had once more the privilege of riding with the Engineers aboard the Disneyland Railroad. I remind you, that the night before, I worked 8 hours at a toxic job that was very stressful because of so many thieves who did not fear Police or Security. Therefore, I was able to catch a small nap on Pirates. It is all dark and everyone is looking at the animatronics not what is going on in the boat. I also had a shrimp salad I think it had egg and avocado and bleu cheese next to the Columbia Ship. I got my food in 2 minutes while everyone else was still waiting including the front of the line with the Disney app! My point is that it was a blessed day and night. Like I said, my views of Disney and appreciation has very much deepened!! Maybe there is a reason why you responded I think 3 years later??!! Well I'll tell you that I have always credited God for all that goes on in Disneyland except the Haunted Mansion. That being said, I'll tell you some truth about now and the immediate future. If you look in older manuscripts, you WILL SEE that God's name is Jehovah! Here is my viewpoint. In the book of Deuteronomy 13, you will see it talks of Dreamers. You may agree that Walt was a Dreamer. The Bible says "if the Dreamer dreams a dream and it comes true and the dreamer is telling you to follow another God, you must not but it is Jehovah your God testing you that you love him". Disney and Walt are not telling you to follow another God but almost constantly you will hear at Disneyland to "BELIEVE" or "HAVE FAITH IN YOUR DREAMS"!! So along those lines of Dreamers and God, that is why I believe Disney is so successful because Jehovah God is behind it to a certain extent. I have SEEN His hand there many times like when Rocket Rods came, my no good Wife was unfaithful and that ride came right on time and served it's purpose to comfort me and who knows who else during my great distress!! Also at that time was "Believe...There's Magic In The Stars firework show with very soothing music. It had for the first time I have ever seen is heart shaped fireworks and hearing "BELIEVE" whispered in the speakers!! At that time, I believed my Wife would come back but I have come to believe that Jehovah saw something better in the future and I did meet my dream girl back in 2006 and basically we exchanged wishes and I left her in God's hands. I do believe it is His will for us to be together in His time but that is just some of my faith and my experiences. Since I brought Jehovah God in the picture, IF you'd like to LEARN THE TRUTH that these other no good faiths have hidden, like removing God's name, and learn HOW to get into the coming New World that will be ruled by Christ and want to learn how to live forever, build your own house, plant your own food and LIVE FOREVER IN TRUE PEACE, even with ALL THE ANIMALS, please visit JW.ORG and study with the Computer for FREE, AND LEARN THE TRUTH IT VERY MUCH IS!!! I have yet to ride that new trackless car ride. Again, sorry for my no good comment but I hope the above information will help so honest people like YOU can be truly saved. Maybe some day in the New World, if you are faithful and do all the Bible requires, people like you and me can work inside Disneyland in the New World with "the glorious freedom of the children of God"!! the only song i like is the instrumental pizza song where luigi occasionally speaks to direct the cars in the dance. however, the one where a different car sings is nice too due to having a less annoying voice singing (no offense, luigi!)
