Our music in Spanish is all about heart-breaking romance and deep, non-measurable passion and then we have the upbeat rhythms that would not allow our feet to stay still. We can easily go from die-hard loving to die-heart fun. It is all about how much passion you put into it. I remember a couple of years back at an amusement park they had a Latin music show and all the white folks were just sitting there motionless and emotionless and I was the only one out of my chair dancing and enjoying myself like crazy.

This guy is a great combination of cultures, his father was a Spanish singer, his mother an italian model, this guy was raising as mexican with all the proud that this means, a country where the talent is embraced and recognized. I am not mexican, just admit the great production of great singers.

He has amazing vocals. Born in Puerto Rico. His father (Spaniard) was a known musician known as "Luisito Rey" as yrs passed he then became Luis Miguel manager and his strickness had lots to do with that amazing voice. The dad had poor financial management and Luis Miguelfired him. Dad was a heavy drinker became depressed and died. His Mother Marcella Basteri (Italian) one day left home and till this day is missing. Luis Miguel searched for her through many means and ways. I know he wonders what happened to his mother. Sad story. In all he is know as: El sol de Mexico.

I first found out about Luis Miguel while watching the movie Speechless in the early 90s and although I didn’t know Spanish I was amazed at his voice. Fast forward to today, I have 10+ albums of his, saw him in concert thrice, and my wife and I will be seeing him every time he comes back to Dallas now that we live here. if you hear the studio version, you will see the song isn't simple at all, but it has no closure, so he made this "improvisions" to make it sound espectacular for a live show, unfortunally in the past we didn't have the chance of discovering so many talents as we have the chance now, a little late maybe but now you know, he's still great, with some overweight and gray hair (he's 49 now), but he's still around making live shows before 1000's of people and making changes to his songs and in my opinion improving himself year after year.

You may find interesting that the earpiece is more than a concert necessity, as Luis Miguel has an inner ear condition called tinnitus, which makes what a normal singer many times more difficult. His style is definitely 90's. Yet, more particularly, his mom being from Italy (he speaks it), and his dad being from Spain, he was very connected to europop, which is highly energetic, such as the work in Spanish by Laura Pausini's (Volveré Junto a Ti), etc.
