Wards jab is all based on his ability to read the opponent. That's how he knows when to throw it. He has great timing, and great ability to read opponents movements. Just to make it simple.
Thanks for the knowledge. But is strange to hear the karate guy story because the first thing we learn in Karate (Goju ryu, kyokushin, shotokan, shito ryu dunno for the others) is how to punch with the two first knuckles. It's almost annoying how much they put an emphasis on it until you understand it's for your own good.
My karate friend who I mentioned in the video was drunk when the break happened. Our other drunk friend was holding a pad and thought it would be funny to jerk it out of the way at the last second. Other friend hits wall, back two knuckles hit the metal stud
