He played his ass off. The first 2 games he was really struggling but he's found himself. You can bet he'll be a force in game 5.....even if they bring Frankenstein off the bench to risk his career.

Kind of seen this coming, if you watch game 3 Q4, last 8 minutes Dallas was 10-0 run and the Celtics couldn't stop them, it's like they finally got the sauce, however if Porzingis returns, that will be different story.
Winning or losing, I have lots of respect for Luka. He never complained about not having enough star players, not having a good coach, not having enough help, he just kept digging and doing his best. Now they are in the finals and I'm very proud of him and the team. Kyrie has proven to be a great addition and also deserves more credits in his championship run with the Cavs.
Not super surprised that Dallas blew out Boston tonight, though the margin IS surprising. Used to see the Celtics in the 80s, when they were dominant, but saw them get blown out too. I still believe that on balance, TEAM beats individuals. The Celtics have a balanced TEAM. The Mavs have Luka and Kyrie, partly because as a POINT guard, I'd argue that as great as a scorer as Luka is, holding the ball as much as he does is just NOT conducive to getting other players involved much. It's a structural imbalance in an offense. Sure, when he and Kyrie are hot, that imbalance does not show itself. But over the course of a whole series, usually it WILL show itself, as it already has. Remember. the Celtics have won 3 games, to now 1 for the Mavs. Let's see what happens back in the Garden.
They scored 27 and 23 tonight. It was the TEAM that destroyed the Celtics. Gafford, Lively, Exum, Washington, Jones.....the defense stifled Boston's offense, and when they were struggling, everyone contributed on offense for Dallas. Just imagine if Luka had a good game? The 2nd most prolific 3pt shooter in the game got ZERO 3pt shots and they won by 38. Stop repeating talking points.
CONS : - Trade Derrick Jones in the off-season. Junior's got Jordan Poole problems. - Somebody in the team is allergic to shooting 3's. Maxi should peel off the pads and get quiffy with it. - Joe Mazzulla would beat the whole Dallas roster in a FT shoot-out. Embiid would out shoot this roster using the twitchy eye. PROS: - Lively has the potential to be a taller Kevon Looney and an alley-oop machine. - Dante can become the X factor. Got the frame, the hops, and the shooting form. Could be this team's Grant Williams. - The CONE started moving.
Look at the Celtics being gentleman and letting the Mavericks and their fans get one win. You realized this was a scripted game. They told the Celtics and the refs to lose this one on purpose to gain more money and revenue. Also so that Boston could win in front of their Fans.
You guys keep saying that. You realize people were talking about Boston being a top 10 all time champion. After a 40pt loss they aren't going to be talking about them like that anymore no matter what happens Monday.

@@Daq1uan I hate to break this to you, NO ONE is ever forgetting that in the clinching game of the NBA Finals, Boston got the worst beatdown in 50 years. Tatum got 15 points, Brown got 10. And as far as teams they "Ran through," do you mean the #10 seed, #5 seed, and #6 seed who all were missing their best players? Yeah, that's impressive....
@@SDesWriter I’m not even a fan of either team so hop off. The refs set the tone very early that they were going to allow Dallas to play VERY physical. The officiating was one sided. Luka got 5 straight free throws off of leaning in and drawing contact late in the 1st which is against the new rules. From that point I already knew it was a wrap. If you don’t think the nba wants to stretch this thing out to increase the revenue idk what to tell you. Can’t let their new golden boy get swept. If scott foster is officiating there’s a 100% chance some Fuckery is afoot.
When this series started, I said the Celtics have the better team but could lose to the Mavs for these reasons. 1. Boston does not score a lot of points so if you can push the tempo, you can win. 2. Boston tandem of Brown and Tatum play more ISO ball or my turn/your turn 3. Boston has problems with teams who have star guards and the Mavs have 2 in Luka and Kyrie. It's the reason they lost to the Warriors the year with Curry putting them to sleep 4. The Celtic guards are good on defense but not offfense Viewing game 3, the Mavs learned something late in that game that carried over to game 4. 1. The Mavs pushed the tempo. Although they did not win game 3, they brought that 20 plus lead down to 3 and we know Luka fouled out. The game could have been a W. Viewing game 4, the Mavs pushed the tempo and took the ball out of Luka's hand when coming up the floor. Luka is slow bringing the ball up which allows the Celtics to setup their defense. In game 4, we saw more Dante Exum who sped the ball up the floor before the Celtics could setup their defense. 2. The Celtics also started the game returning to their old ways of a lot of ISO shots for Tatum. In the games they won, they were passing it to multiple players for the open shot. 3. Luka and Kyrie not only scored but they found their teammates for good open shots by making the right pass. 4. Jrue and Derrick were not scoring and they were not able to keep up defensively due to the Mavs on the move.
Great display. Unfortunately, and I wanted the Mavs to win it all, but the Mavs right now are incapable of doing this 3 more times, especially twice in Boston. Mavs should have done this in game 3 if they wanted some chance 🙁
Seems like Celtic is doing what the Mavs did to their previous opponent. Will be the same series score at 4:1. Game over Mavs, Luka deserves a better team!

Welp...Definently a throw away game for Boston. Looks like they really wanna win on their home court, in front of their fans instead of raising the trophy in Dallas.
I know no one has the guts to say it, but as a die hard Boston Celtics fan, I think I speak for all of us when I say we don’t want Jayson Tatum here. He is an offensive liability and is holding this elite team back. I think it serves us best to release Jayson Tatum immediately.
As a non-Celtics fan, I understand what you mean. Some days he helps the team, other days he hurts them. He cannot stay consistent at all, so you never know what you're gonna get from him. He's the biggest reason why Boston lost the Finals back in 2022.

ok congrats to dallas at least dallas they avoided being swept but remember this is only one game and dallas is still down big time 3 games to 1 most likely boston want to win the championship in their home floor in front of their fans this is strategy we play we save energy let them play their hearts out in the next game dallas won’t have the same energy level and intensity, as long as they can keep the crowd out the gane they might still have a chance but if boston build a lead at the end and the crowd goes wild and crazy then is all over boston has to close the series in the next game in boston because if they choke then they are risking going back to dallas for a game 6 that might lead to a game 7 they can’t take that risk and let tbe series slip out of their fingers, i din’t watch the game but tbe score tells the whole story i’m willing to bet anyone that boston will finish them off by more than 10 in boston
They didn't even have an especially big game and beat Boston by 38. All it took were the role players doing their jobs. If Boston had played good they still would have gotten stomped....it just turned into a historic blowout because the Mavs weren't giving up ANY easy shots. If they bring this level of intensity to Boston, we're going to have a Game 6. But it will take a huge effort to beat them in their building in this situation. The Celtics know if they don't win, the Mavs will be HEAVILY favored in Game 6 and then we've got a Game 7 and they could be humiliated for all time by being the only team to blow a 3-0 lead. So they're going to come HARD at Dallas in the next game.
