Such disrespect, please nine years straight to the nba finals. Luca is just trying to get to the finals. LeBron did all this with young players, at the age of 21, 22, 22, 24 ,25 ,26 ,27 , 28 29 etc etc etc he is always in the finals owns the east ok. I hope he doesn't ask for it. They're going to need a new backup shooting guard in the offseason and that costs money. Keep salary capping yourself with massive individual contracts and you get stuck like Denver with your starters playing 43-47 minutes in important playoff games, then going down to inferior teams and wasting the whole season. All the money you can make in endorsements and in commercials and you're going to handicap your team's ability to get players to help you over wanting the most? When you could get a couple more consistent players to make your team a perennial contender? That's crazy....

To be fair, their is a definitely a similarity between Luka and Larry in their on the court intelligence. The way they both pass the ball around the court is scarily similar. The way they differ the most is how they play in iso which Luka also does way more than Bird did.

Do hope Luka doesn’t take that super max (or whatever it’s called) contract so we have more to attract and keep better role players around him. Back in the day, Dirk the legend took a smaller contract to help build a team around him, one of the classist things he did for the Mavs!

Screw that. Dirk took a smaller contract and Cuban did nothing to help build the team around him. He wasted his last 7 years with the Mavs. The Dumonts are multi billionaires. They can afford to give Luka a super max. He deserves it. Players need to be as industrious as owners.

Exactly! He tall, he's white, he can rebound and pass.....he must be Larry Bird! Luka is closest to LeBron (without the speed & jumping) and Magic. But his style is completely unique because you have to toss in Jokic in the mix because they both play at their pace and it messes with the playground warriors in the NBA. And yeah, everyone claiming there are better OFFENSIVE NBA duos (at all, not just backcourt) are clueless. Luka & Kyrie already set the all-time scoring record for duos at 59.5. They have 15 rebounds and 14 assists as a pair. They completely control the Mavs offense. There's no one even close. And if someone tries telling you that Klay and Curry is better, remind them that instead of 60/15/14 you're comparing 52/7/9 (on a team where Draymond was the key playmaker). GTFO.....

i am not very educated with contracts but can anyone educate me please? we know one reason why warriors were a dynasty because warriors got curry very cheap and warriors had cap-space to sign a lot of good players, is it not detrimental to the team if one of their player is raking in almost $80mil how much that leaves for other good players to get signed? once again i am not educated enough i am just curious to know he is eligible for such humongous contract

The Cap space will increase each year so Luka making 80 mil a year will be the new 50 million in 2029 2030. Plus Curry wasn't a superstar level player and he had ankle problems when the Warriors give him that cheap contract.
