Luke & Chris perform a new song off of Luke's new album that Chris wrote "Drink A Beer" Afterwards, Luke acknowledges a little girl, Michelle, in the crowd from the Children's Hospital whom he dedicates "Do I" to.
If I had to choose only one vocalist I could listen to the rest of my life it would definitely be Chris Stapleton. And I bet Luke might just agree with me.
A s they said that 7 yes ago he would be the artist they could listen to forever, the most. Imagine how you feel now @mrmwest09. Now millions agree with you. For sure. I do
+Jackson R I've noticed that too.. This effin guy acts like he's a nobody when in fact he's perhaps the most talented musician living right now! Yeah I said it, all around this guy is Gold! Nothing he cant do!
And compose! He is the definition of humble indeed! He has more than earned his right to sign his own da*n songs! He signs them better than the people he wrote them for. Wow, give me some of Chris's southern rock/blues any dam* time!
The girl was a teenager with Cystic Fibrous. I was on the crew who took her there that night. She passed away a few months later. It was a moving day and I was glad I was able to be part of it. I lost my son's father only two months prior to this show. Very moving!
at least she got a good night out near the end vs sitting 24/7 in a hospital... my Mom did that for months before she passed and its simply a terrible existence.
man my dad died 6/2/2010 man after 3 years it still hurts when I heard this song I thought about my dad I cried and cried and cried im a tough Georgia boy but when I heard this I was sweatin tears like I never did in my life I know how you feel man R.I.P Greg Bryan always in memory never forgotten love you dad so long friend
My mom passed away in Sept. I've been off the radar for a bit as far as enjoying music. Heard Luke's version after my mom passed and cried and cried. My mom wasn't a drinker, we never sat on a pier and had a beer, but damn it to he*l if this song doesn't make me ache for her even more.
Chris did write this song specifically for Luke after Luke lost a family member. But I do want to add that if Luke would say that, half of Nashville would have to say it as well. He has composed for everyone.
having heard Chris sing now, we all know why Luke didn't let him sing a verse. haha Chris would have shredded this song. Such egos. Chris was behind the scenes for a long time. He's finally getting the credit he deserves. If you haven't looked up his songs, you should.
4:16 he was cool enough to give credit to him by playing along, the two of them, and giving Chris two momentos to solo. I thought that was humble from Luke.
One of my best friends died in a car crash and they played this song at his memorial. I had never heard it before. Now every time I hear it, it brings a tear to my eye and I reflect on the great times we had. RIP Kyle.
Chris is one of the most talented and most versatile singers in the business and is a true writing genius. His music is like no other person that I've heard. I am glad he's getting some credit for all of his hard work that he's done. When he finally hits mainstream radio, he's gonna blow up and people will see what I've been talking about for a long time. I might stir a hornets nest here, but Luke's vocals can't shine Chris a light. I agree Jason, he may not be now, but he will be for sure!
I lost my son July 21st 2023. HE wrapped his truck. I'm still having denial, depression and I don't know, how to get back after this. I ended up in the Hospital 14 days later, I come out with a cardiac issue, my heart is still broken, this song he loved both of thse singers. ❤
We lost our son on March 20, 2014 at the age of 19. The whole family kinda wrapped our arms around this song for him. Luke does a great job with this song, but was surprised to see Chris wrote it, which I had just started listening too. Love yall!!
couldn't agree more my friend. playlists and social media are the bane of our existence. I cried when we lost Merle. Not many old schoolers left on this side of the dirt anymore. Chris, Jamey and others, unknown are our only hope
I can watch this a million times and still be blown away by Chris's talent, even just that little bit at the end. I want him to as famous as he deserves.
Why does it always have to turn into a pissing contest when both are obviously very talented, they both bring something different to the table. I enjoy watching either or both of them. Relax, take a deep breath, then sit back and enjoy the video
I have great respect for Mr. Stapleton ad of course Luke. I first heard this song after my son was murdered. This was his song.. Was blown away that Chris Stapleton wrote it. I think Luke could of been a little more respectful to the man who gave him a huge hit... Rock on both brothers.
And that boys and girls, is how you respectfully but FIRMLY let the world know that you wrote that song, and that this is how it should sound. LoL Best male vocalist out there right now.
I started listening to country music because of Chris Stapleton.. but i love Luke Bryan too .. I don't know why u guys act like he sucks .. he makes amazing music ..
So I’m gonna set right here on the edge of this pier……😔💙💛❤️💙💛😩 watch the sunset disappear and drink a beer. So long my friend💙 remember all the times…..WE used too. GOD I MISS YOU‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️💔💔💔
It's sad this is 2013 Chris wrote this song and gave it to Luke and he killed it but if you heard Chris sing it hands down this man kills it!!!!!! Welcome to 2017 Chris is the man in country music!!
Right??? Well, in hindsight we all now see that Chris is 100 times the artist that Luke Bryan is. And has probably outearned in just the last few years. Luke wishes he was Chris Stapleton.
+CJ Bonnette I imagine that you ( like me) got to this video because I searched Chris, not Luke. Had the reverse happened the top comment would be Luke's fans complaining that at a Luke Bryan concert luke isn't even singing.. The internet can't win
I like luke bryan but that chris an his voice is the one that makes this song an I'm glad he is being pulled up to the front instead of the background singer!! way to go chris!!!!!!
I had no idea that Chris Stapleton wrote that song for Luke, I’m like speechless about that right now! And I also know that his brother and his sister are very very very proud of that song, because it’s an honor of them. And it’s gorgeous and beautiful! I love Luke Bryan so much, I wish that I could meet him, that’s my dream to meet him and Keith urban. To be honest! I’m not really a big fan of Chris Stapleton that much, but broken halos and billionaire are the only two favorite songs that I love that’s basically it. I really hope that I don’t get any hate comments for that :-) please please please don’t do that.
this is such a great video! i love seeing Luke Bryan and Chris Stapleton perform this song together. And finding out Chris Stapleton wrote it! had no idea
why would he need chris in his ear when he didnt even let him sing till the end my hats off to chris to be so humble with such amazing tallent and a voice second to none
This song I know exactly what is talking about.Because I lost my son 15 Years ago. From an accidental overdose. He has been real back with a need to too much cough medication. And it took his life. He died in 2009 In his bed. Ad and I and I was unaware makes you because he always slept late And I didn't want to wake him up. Then Ight before at 10:43 p.m. I turned off his TV and he was snoring., I shook him and woke him up, Told him mommy love you. When he was looked at 1:00 p.m. He was stone cold And hard. He was 26 At the time of his death.Mr.Bryan, I understand how bad it heand you hurt when you're lost someone you love so much. You never forget, But you have to remember WE WILL see them again!❤
People saying Chris is better than Luke: Their two voices aren’t comparable. They both have different sounds, so I don’t know how you can say one is better than the other. They may both sing country music, but they both have very different sounds.
No kidding!! (last comment) Talk about gettin shown up!! By a guy who actually writes too! Haha I'm just so glad to see that Stapleton is finally starting to get the recognition he deserves. Wish he got to sing more of it, but still good on Luke for havin the guy up there.
It woulda been sweet to see Chris just start belting it out and have Luke Bryan just stop and watch. But, he knew what was coming and he's such a humble dude.
Don't rip on Luke Bryan, he is a good singer. Chris might be a better writer/artist but doesn;t take away from the fact that Luke Bryan can sing and does a great job with the song. Respect people.
