Tracy Chapman is a legend and this is one of the coolest down to earth songs about normal life we live. I think it came out in like 1988-1989 and 30+ years later it still has the same effect. Luke nailed the cover IMO. It’s like it needed both a female version and a male version. Really like it!!!
SAME!! I just pray he gives her credit and educates folks on the original, but damn he did good bringing back this fabulous to 2023 and a new generation
Gotta say I didn't wanna accept this song coming from just anyone but you did it dude! Tracy Chapman would actually maybe approve but definitely got my approval
Actually her version rings true for women who feel responsible for others and yearn to escape their environment. Her version inspired so many women all over the world!
This cover is honestly really beautifull, its didnt change any lyrics, or anything... i feel like this came from a place of love for the original, or atleast longing for that type of music... also its cool to see a song considered a lesbian anthem, covered by a type of musician you would never expect to do a thing like that... kinda breaks stereotypes in a way
Great one with the remix of a great lady Tracy is definitely 💯 10 with me and y'all nailed it to the fullest 👍 and just plain awesome job 😎👍🙏❤️ much respect to y'all and that's is without any questions asked 💯👍😎
Although, I Absolutely Love This..........A women needs to sing on the other end about being a single married mother. Always 2 sides to every story. 🤷♀️ Come on. She was a check out girl while you took care of your father & you quite school. Who took care of everyone?? HER. Who took care of everyone while your father died then you went to school? Her. Who took care of the Babies while you were at school & your new job? HER. & Who's Not to Say she didn't have a JOB on top of all of that? Plus taking care of the house, etc. That......Ladies and Gentlemen is the epidemy of an average American women's Life. This Song is about HIM. NOT HER. & I find it sad.
There was nothing wrong with the original. What happened, You run outta talent and needed a quick buck?!? Why are yall covering songs that are already perfect. write new or fix the ones that sucked!
It was made from a place of love, it barely got released... Luke grew up with it and wanted to make a cover, and he did... it wasn't a fast buck thing, it was a thing from the bottom of his heart
