Love the short beard. Love your music. Sedona is a beautiful place, lots of beautiful scenery with red-rock buttes, steep canyons, lots of camping, I believe it’s considered high desert but have lots wildlife.

In copyright law there is an Independent Creation cause: basically states that two people can create similar works without ever being aware of the other. So if you write a song that sounds like another song that you have never heard before, then you have independently created a work and have not violated their copyright. In the example Luke gives, if he writes a song that sounds like one from 1980 that never made it out of a regional radio station, then he his protected under US copyright and the two songs are both considered separate creative works.

Problem is when someone reaches high levels there will be lawsuits. For example sam smith was sued by tom petty for using 3 same notes in a row

Luke Combs I bought tickets to your show at the Illinois State fair and I bought a hotel room and I didn’t get to go because my boyfriend at the time had to go to work at Long John’s .
