the trenches penn st up front won and their staff made adjustments in 2nd half looked like a usc 2nd half repeat where the badgers lead at half and the other staff made adjustments and this staff didnt do anything to counter. That being said they need to stack recruiting the depth difference was evident
You can try and run whatever scheme and plays you like. But until the Badgers get legitimate talent at the level of Penn State and Ohio State nothing will Change.
That game was lost because they stumped our run game. It put unnecessary pressure, not only on Locke, but on the entire passing offense which has not done well in pass first situations. This loss is not Locke's fault. I can't stand people hating on Locke, a young, athletic, and talented guy who can sling the ball, but is just raw and makes impulsive decisions more than he should. There is so much potential there. If you ask me the beginning of the end was at the conclusion of the first half where we made a big stop and chose to go to the locker room with 40+ seconds and 3 timeouts. That's the mentality that the coaching staff is bringing. This loss was on them.
@@kyleliegelI mean at the end of the day the pick 6 was the deciding play of the game….. Whether you want to admit that or not it completely changed the momentum of the entire game… and took the crowd out of it
@@Cart-w8z Was it a crucial mistake in the game? Absolutely. Am I frustrated that Locke has thrown an INT in every game he's started this season. No doubt - it's gotta stop. But to call it the deciding play is incredibly reductive and reactionary. Great quarterbacks and great teams throw interceptions and still win games. After that play it was still a one score game and the subsequent drives saw us force a punt and then get a field goal to make it a one score game going into the fourth quarter. I'm not saying Locke is our next Russel Wilson, but our offense has been the most productive it has been since Fickell was hired with him as the starter (and frankly going back to that last year with Chryst) . To not acknowledge the raw talent he has I think is a crime.
@@kyleliegel It’s not reductionary…. Wisconsin had all of the momentum before the pick 6…. Afterwords it sucked all of the energy out of the stadium and team
@@Cart-w8z Level headed, professional, and well coached teams find success in the face of adversity and mistakes. One mistake doesn't define a person, place, or game. Blaming an entire loss on once interception is ridiculous. Simple as that. I doubt you'd walk into the locker room, speak to that team, and reduce that entire game to that one interception.
Wisconsin has to move past this goal of "get it to the fourth quarter & keep it close". In modern CFB, you have to be able to come back from more than a 7 point deficit. Wisconsin's whole vibe of "we have to be up, or it has to be tied, and all we're going to do from there is run it right at them to try to close it out"...thats never going to beat good teams. That might be good enough to win 7 or 8 games and go to the Meinkie Car Care Bowl, but thats not a gameplan built for elite level play
@@Cart-w8z it's so sad, lol. To watch Wisconsin be the same thing as WVU, Illinois, USC, etc. They're delusional fans convince themselves they're on PSUs level, they talk shit all week, then lose like everyone with a brain knew they would...and then as soon as the final whistle happens, those same fans all say the same thing 😆
The goal should be to dominate the game, not try to make it close in the 4th quarter. look at indiana and cignetti, his goal is to dominate the game. Who gives a fuck if they’re indiana, go out there and destroy the other team. We need that sort of confidence, i can tell in these big games that some of the wisconsin players are too antsy. They gotta play confident and free. same goes for kirby and saban. Those guys and their teams knew/know how to play a close game from experience and smart coaching, but their goal was to go out and absolutely dominate, don’t even let it be close in the 4th.
Good effort from badgers but talent discrepancy it too big. Penn state's backup qb is better then badgers starting qb. Get legit recruits to wisconsin and they will get better. Until then. 8-4 to 7-5 seasons is what you'll get.
Fire him! They were winning at half and PSU had thier QB, LT and start DT leave the game. Never will have a better shot to have a signature top ten win. Go pay anything to get Indianas HC!!!! Now. Every penny
