As much as I like wright there are so many players playing better than him at the moment, Dobey, Cullen,bunting, chizzy,Clayton,Searle, even dimitri, van duijvenbode and heta. Noppert is ahead of him in the world rankings just now but I’m guessing they picked wright because there’s two Scottish venues in the premier league and wright is a character that will help fill them?

It IS money driven but I don’t believe that’s a bad thing. More money in the sport brings in bigger prize pots for players, and ultimately encourages new players into sport. It’s 100% a great thing IMO. Other sports are just as money driven, but look at the amazing opportunities it gives these players. Keep it money driven in my opinion. Drive it as hard as they can. It’s absolutely amazing for the sport, and for the viewers at home. Enjoy it mate. This kind of PR and promotion doesn’t come around every day for the smaller sports.

If that was the case one of those two should have gotten the nod. It is all about what Barry wants. Wright won a major, a european tour title and reached another european tour final. Dobey reached one european tour semi and a couple of quarters, nothing else. I understand why you want to see Dobey instead of Wright, but Wright played a better season and it's not even that close.
