Side by side comparison of the Lumenok vs the Nockturnal light arrow nocks. Below are the conversion charts for arrow to nock: Nockturnal: basspro.scene7.com/is/content... Lumenok: lumenok.com/pages/nock-selector
@@brianloeffler2245 How have you spent hundreds of dollars on them when they're $30.00 for 3? Didn't the first 3-pack fail and give you a warning not to buy any more?
Hi Patrick, I've been using the Nocturnal since 2012. Had a few that didn't light coccertly, and a couple have split, otherwise I like them. I even bought the tool to turn them off. I think it was about 7 bucks on e-bay. Nice vid P.S. The bees in the ground were most likely yellow jackets. If you can locate the next wait until night time and douse them with some kind of wasp and hornet killer. Most have returned to the nest by dark, so you're sure to kill the most. You can also burn them out with charcoal lighter( DON"T USE GAS it explodes, not gonna say how I know that).
I’ve had the Nockturnals. They failed over and over. The battery comes flying out inside the arrow. Also the Nockturnals nock actually broke after about 6 shots. Pay the extra money.
The lumenok can be reused over and over. The nockturnal is a throw away after the battery is dead. I'll pay $3 more to be able to keep using the lumenok
What do you do if you shave light up knocks that do not have a pressure switch in the but are operated on inertia to turn them on how well do they work for hunting? This is the first time using lighted knocks. Can you help me?
Have you tried nocturnal a strobes. I have and the only 2 things I don't like about them is I couldn't get them to stay in the bushing and they don't fit micro diameter arrows
I wish I saw this a week ago. I bought some lumenoks because so many people recommend them. They’re horrible. They turn one once you place them in the arrow. So difficult to shut off. I bought the size recommend for my tko rip. Had such a hard time getting it in. Broke one of the nocks just by forcing it in.
Glory nocks are amazing in my rip tko, and they work good...practiced with them for a while and the battery in 2 of them still work and one just wore out from being shot so much.
Good comparison, especially if you are hunting bees. Haha. I initially was thinking the Lumenok would be a better buy because the battery lasts twice as long and is replaceable. But, the ease of installation and the brightness of the Nockturnal probably outweigh the battery life of the Lumenok. Do you have any experience with the Nockturnal Helios?
The Helios vanes are not that great but the nocks that come with them are good and I actually got a bunch for a deal just to use the nocks and they work good.
Different sizes? ....wth, im getting these for a xmas gift for my brother in law, I dont hunt and have no idea what "size" i should get?.....i have no idea what arrows he uses lol, any suggestions?
I'm sorry to hear that man. Yes there is 3 popular sizes for the style arrows on the market. Unless you can reach out and find out what arrows he uses and then look up the pdf to match with the appropriate part number.
@@patrickmcclurg5475 OK.. Thanks for the quick reply!.. I can maybe ask my other brother in law who hunts with him lol maybe hell know what size of arrows he uses!.... I actuslly judt found a universal set of nockturnals as well, but they're almost 15 more bucks for the 3 pack
You can use the Lumenok with arrows that have bushings on them all you have to do is get a peice of Emery cloth and rub the coating off that is on the bushing! The metal bushing that is on the arrow is conductive metal the coating on it is not. You do not twist the Lumenok to deactivate it you simply take your index finger and thumb pinch the nock wiggle a little and push at the same time very simple. Another way to turn of the Lumenok is a very great tool call the exstinguisher that is also used as an arrow puller that can be clipped on to one of your arrows in your quiver. Also the lumenok had 40 pluse hours of battery life and also can replace the battery at very affordable price. Yes the lumenok is a few bucks more but you don't have to buy a whole new nock you simply buy replacement batteries they come in a two pack so you can shoot shoot shoot and keep shooting instead of conserving on shots because you don't wanna buy a whole new knock. #Lightemup
Well if you look at Lumenok arrow sheet it recommends these for the Da Torch. And the only way that fit is if you remove the bushing. So feel free to do your own video with the Da Torch and the same style Lumenok and show us. Thanks.
Must have had a bad nock. Only time I’ve had a nocturnal break was after I either hit it with another arrow, or a deer smacked it against the side of a tree. Both of the deer I shot this year I shot with the same nock.
Plus 1..... I been bow hunting for 20 yrs and used em all! The lumenock HD orange is the best for evening shot deer any lasts years the nocturnals will fail to activate when u need it most has happened to me numerous times!
Rich Nicoletti maybe so but when ur lates dusk and ur on a food plot ur pin is green the back drops green and you concentrate on ur arrow flight better in hd orange imo! Use what works for you tho
Lumenoks are heavy bricks. Nochturnals weigh the same weight as my pin nocks. Lumenoks are 11 grains more. If you want a lighter one, go with Nockturnal. Also the Lumenoks battery came out of the head on the first try with one, junk. The Lumenoks also have very weak plastic. The tip bend easily. Nockturals are a whole lot easier to turn off too, .
@@welborneoutdoors7418 Both. They are a pain to turn off. And after gouging a sharp pointed object in the small hard to see hole a few times the switch is easy to damage.
@@reddawng43x91 No user error here. For that matter, I think it would be virtually impossible to use the wrong size. When Lumenoks first came out, I bought a half dozen. Installed them on my 2514s which weighed 525 grains, and shot them out of my 82 lb, 31" draw Ballistic Mirage. All 6 of them, upon impact with my McKenzie 3D deer target, slammed the batteries to the front of the arrow shaft, destroying the batteries. I still have them to show people.
