Panasonics first true pro level camera, the Lumix GH3 was a powerful start to their lineup. Will Crockett is one of the photographers who worked with Panasonic as the camera was getting ready for it's debut and was trained by the factory on how best to use this terrific mirrorless camera. This video shares how to setup this camera for amazing photo and video files.
Most of this info applies to the GH4 too.
So sorry for the low image quality of this file. Somehow we lost the original files from this and the rest of our older titles so I had to rescue it from our Vimeo Channel and repost it here. My apologies, but the info in this video is still very strong. Thanks - Will

Still have it. Still use it. GH3 knocked it out of the park.

Hi Andreas, Glad your "3" is still doing it's job. I still have my first one, see below, and agree it rocked when it came out. I remember Panasonic showing me the first working GH3 prototype in their secret Batcave and I was freaked out with what I saw. Who could have imagined a small not-too-expensive camera could do all that? I was skeptical at first, but they let me take one home and from day one I knew they were onto something big from these little cameras. I still shoot video with a pair of GH4's all day long. A very well thought out and informative video!! It came at a right time for me. I was always intrigued with the Lumix 4/3 format camera. I rescued two (yes two) GH3s from the trash. Both cameras had a 14-45mm and 20mm lenses with the camera. The person who threw the cameras away told me they were acting messed up. After taking a picture the message 'turn camera off and back on' would be displayed. After researching the subject it appeared that it is being caused by a mechanical shutter sticking. I turned the electronic shutter on and you can take photos and the message does not appear. I don't know if the camera would be worth fixing or just use it as is. Best Duane

Hi Duane, two in the trash? Lucky guy! Nice job in figuring out the stuck shutter and in my opinion I don't think they are worth repairing BUT they should still shoot video no problems and the eShutter is fine unless you need flash / strobe. I still have my first one and lend it to friends and neighbors who go on trips and want nicer images than their phones. It's still clicking away after all these years. GH3 dynamic range is uncompelling in 2021. Sony line, A6000 is way better. Love GH3 though, yet feels like last decade. Eyes evolve with the zeitgeist. Thanks!

Yep! You are right on all accounts and I never thought about the "feel" of the GH3 being dated but you are correct. Thanks for the post.
