Comparison is always meaningless. Even though I am a big fan of Fuji cameras and do have one myself, I don't think judging a Gucci bag in terms of Chanel is a good idea. Every company has its own design concept. LX100 I and II allow to record 4k videos at 30 fps, but X70 only at 15 fps. LX100 has a 1.7/f, X70 has only 2.8 apercture. There are a lot of differences, so choose what you like and make good use of what you choose.

When compared to the Sony RX100 mark 4 or 5, their apertures are nearly just as bright, both record 4k (though Panasonic wins with record length), and they outdo the LX100 with a tilting screen, pocketable design, higher resolution, and a MUCH higher burst rate. And despite the pixels being smaller, the ISO performance is very similar because the 1inch chip is backside illuminated. I almost bought an LX100 I because I thought that it was the best performance for the size you could get, but I was dead wrong when I saw image quality comparisons with the Sony. Of course it comes down to preference, some would certainly like a larger camera to hold onto, but I prefer to have my camera always on me, in my pocket, and not around my neck being a nuisance.

Why I said comparison is always meaningless, it is because we don't take one's edge against any others. LX100 has a higher resolution of OLED viewfinder than other models of similar size, including Fuji and Sony, a firm grip, and intuitive dials, multi-aspect shooting and so on. I am not saying LX100 surpasses RX100. I just want to say users choose what they like or what suits the purposes, like what they choose. That's it.

I agree with your ending sentiment but I don't know how we got to you saying platitudes about user preference when my original comment referenced a certain portion of the video. The guy in the video said that the LX100 is the only camera that's so small and has such a big sensor. My comment was just about bringing light to the fact that there are other smaller cameras with even larger sensors. And I don't exactly know why you said comparison is always meaningless but then proceeded to compare a few certain features. There are pros and cons with every camera and there is no one true perfect camera that has it all. I was just trying to enlighten people of other options, it's good to have options and to consider them.

No offense, and I think you pointed out other options with the best of intentions, but when it comes to picking a camera, esp a compact one, a lot of people have a hard time deciding on a suitable model, either because some do not know what they want or 2) are unable to properly assess the options in front of them in order to align these choices with their needs and purposes. In short, some are choosers, and some are pickers. When the quality of images is highlighted, usually subjective, then other features of the camera are ignored. When the size of the camera body is considered, then compromises have to be made, namely, maybe a smaller image sensor, no flash or shoe, no viewfinder, and so on. That's why I made a comparison in my previous message to let you know that some features of a camera (by the maker) you have probably ignored. A design means to take everything into consideration, not just the size of the body or the image sensor. Otherwise, why some people will buy this camera, but not you? Anyway, other people who are looking for a small camera with a big sensor will definitely appreciate your comments!

On a trip or whenever I wanna go somewhere unplanned or relaxed.. definitely of course Id still use my gh5 for planned shoots no doubt 😁

@@ismailmanssouri1687 I've only used the LX100, but the newer LX100 MkII uses the newer generation of micro four-thirds sensors. Which does make quite a bit a difference with dynamic range and being able to recover highlights. Additionally, it has a 20mp sensor vs the original's 16mb. Both get cropped further though to 16mb to 12mb. That said the 12mb picture is still large enough for web and small print. Going to 16mb isn't that dramatic. The new model will also be faster in operation. The lens is the same on both and it is an incredible lens. I have an APS-C Fujifilm X-E3 now but I still love the photos I took with the LX100.

Yes extremely acurate.

It really depends on what your needs are, pretty sure the low-light performance is no argument that the LX100 wins, the front display is nice if you're vlogging though.. Again it really depends on what you're looking for :)

Depends what you are looking for.. Photo wise my opinion would go for the LX100, vlog wise I'd think about the sony because of it's flipped monitor. Anyway everyone should do his own research to find out what he/she wants. I can't advise you the ideal camera, just give my own opinion :)
