+Divya kolikipudi Truth is, they always knew. Amber was originally cast as... a vocalist. Not as a rapper. So glad she finally gets the attention she deserves. According to me, Amber and Luna are the best of f(x), artistically speaking.

Problem is, Korean audiences exalt high notes more than other groups...on the male and female vocalists alike...so voices like Amber's, or Moonbyul's, or innumerable others, are often relegated to being their group's rapper, especially in previous generations, but still true now in 4th Gen. Singers like Seulgi and Hwasa started making a dent in that bias in 3rd Gen, and 4th Gen has Minnie and Yuqi (among others) to, dare I say, make their pitches to improve the reception of lower tones. It's a work in progress.

This song really shows off her beautiful voice (and those raspy parts 😱) and it's great sm lets her sing more now with the sm station projects and her album.

Amber is actually a vocalist. She became the rapper because 1) f(x) didn't have a rapper and 2) Her tomboy style would have been too jarring from a vocalist, it's "easier to accept" a rapper

+Minderp Bang in an interview, Amber said that she wanted to try rapping and be the rapper not SM. Both of their mistake is not working on her vocals because she sounds good so far but with more practice I am sure she can be as good as Luna.

+whytedaises exactly, Luna's technique is so good, but mostly because Amber's coach totally didnt train her that much with her singing parts. When she sings on stage she seems a bit weaker than the other vocals, but her emotions and voice are total gold! she raps pretty well too

+Patricia Tirza Lapolwa mmhmm, i know what you mean. With Amber, I think it's a little bit nerves and mostly a lack of vocal training. She's so much better than she used to be - and she sounds great now that she's singing in her range. I think, with work, she's gonna get better breath control and be able to hold those notes longer. With that said, I think her vocal color is a bit airy and breathy, so idt that's gonna change. And Luna...she's just so good. Imo, one of the best vocalists in kpop.

+kisskissbangbang Amber is always breathy since d very beginning. d difference is she is now has d confidence of showing off her vocal. she can sing well. i always knew it ever since i heard her so lil part "in so into u". her vocal color is so sweet airy but a lil bit heavy at d same time. it has charm i must say. she just lack in technique. and also she is always nervous when singing than rapping idk. but im sure she can improve. Luna is always amazing and Krystal's vocal always on point. those two always made a great duet. Amber is d 3rd best singer in f(x) so im very proud she has finally gained d confindence now n delievered such a good show. she did well considering this is like her first most long singing part in live perf with other members
