Here's an adventure FMV game that is absolutely fantastic, even though it could potentially cost you hundreds of dollars to experience. This is likely the rarest North American Saturn game to find outside of Daytona USA CCE NetLink Edition, so good luck snagging a copy.

The gaming industry needs more games like this! Everything now is a FPS or a damn open world game. People are getting bored. I know jackwads like to make fun of SEGA and the Saturn and Dreamcast, but these systems actually had so many different types of games, fun games, quirky games. We need an injection of modern Dreamcast and Saturn to break the boring avalanche of crap that is out now.

Fully agree with you! I was hoping the Wii U would give us tons of really unique experiences, but that never happened to the degree I was hoping for.

I wish they make a remake of Lunacy (Torico) and Mansion of Hidden Souls for this generation consoles, those forgotten titles really deserve it

One of saturns true hidden gems and arguably the best fmv game I've ever played. The graphics and music are second to none to this day.

Oh, it's useless, brings so many memories from my childhood, i'll never forget this game, i enjoyed playing "The mansion of hidden souls" too because it was the same genre/type of gameplay😂

besides the game and the story itself, the other thing that made me fell in love with this masterpiece once I first played it (approx 13 or 14 years ago - keep in mind I'm 18 y/o and back then I didn't know any English at all but surprisingly I finished the entire game and not only once) was the music. I enjoy playing it even now but I so wish I hadn't thrown away the CDs, worst decision every made though

this game has a special place for me. it's awesome but not for everybody because there's not much interaction. it's amazing how expensive it is. thanks for reviewing, no one talks about this game.

+Zyrule Yeah no one does talks about it at all, which is a shame as it's a very good game. The story is really interesting and kept me playing for much longer than I intended to. It's one of the rarest US Saturn games, it's just crazy.

System Sacom's finest adventure title. Shares some of the same themes as their earlier Mansion of Hidden Souls games, especially the bits about butterflies.

It's funny ^^ I bought the US version because I found it for a decent price in a second hand shop and that's actually the only version of the game I could find (didn't find the European "Torico" title). In the end, it costed me a bit more because I had to get an Action Replay in order to play the game on my PAL Saturn. I didn't even know this game was considered as a rare game. I'm playing it at the moment and I think it's very immersive. A very nice discovery !

Love it too. The best in the genre. Torico is also it's name in Europe. It is not that rare or expensive over here, but not common either.

It's interesting how this game is rare in the US. In PAL territories it's once again called Torico. It's was never hard to find back in the day though it does seem to be brushing up against the 100 euro mark. I should give this game another go as I simply didn't have any appreciation left for fmv games in the 32 bit era and it's pretty much been gathering dust with very little playtime.

This game is extremely rare if you want the map that was included. I just bought mine for $235. Most expensive game I have ever bought.

I remember getting this game from my local game shop, the owner said i probably wouldnt like it (i was only 10) he was right, i traded it back in the next day. If only id known it would end up being super rare. Maybe it wasnt as rare in the uk?

Great review once again. I own Lunacy, D, and Enemy Zero for the Saturn. Lunacy I got pretty lucky and was able to get it for $55. The only thing that was missing was the map of the cities that it originally came with on first released. Other then that it's complete with case and manual...but I'm still on the lookout for the map lol.

Love your Saturn videos, just picked up a PAL copy. Anyways, did you know about the different endings you can achieve? There's even some special scenario if you get all the endings I think, but not entirely sure. Anyways maybe something to bear in mind if you'd find it fun

+Aktuell Russland (RussiaGood) Try your hand at Astal. That is a beautiful action platformer. I've done a review of it if you're curious. Dragon Force, Guardian Heroes, Legend of Oasis and Albert Odyssey are also good games, although they don't all fall into your bitmap graphics category. Still check them out. I've done reviews for Guardian Heroes and Astal.

+Project COE is Guardian Heroes playable with the Japanese Version? How is Dragonforce is it worth the price?

If you use a guide it's playable, there's a great story in there you'll miss, but that's where the guide comes. The guide would also help with the magical spells and inventory, but outside that it's fairly easy to play through the Japanese version. As for Dragonforce, it's an excellent game that I'll be reviewing before too long so you'll hear all about my thoughts. It's worth the asking price :)

I remember the game D too. I miss my Saturn so badly, and my GameCube. I didn’t get rid of the consoles or lose them. My mom threw them away.

If David Lynch ever made a Myst like FMV game I think this is kind thing we would of got Haha on side note this sort of just came to me I was looking up on Ebay for Saturn games than I came across this I never heard of it before & could not find much on it but from what little I saw I had to get it best $20 I sent :)

+Mortal Porcupine Haha, I know right. Just an FYI, I'm posting a video tomorrow letting everyone know, but I'm leaving for Portugal for a few weeks of vacation. As such Retro Wednesday and Saturnday will go on hiatus for a few weeks until I return. I didn't want to rush the videos just for the sake of having them up. I'll post a few vlogs and unboxing videos, but starting next week the content is going to be a little on the light side until the first week of October or so.
