My dad played this game and I remeber him showing me this song when I was in the third grade and him geeking out about it and explaining the entire plot to me as I tried to follow along. I loved it and listened to it whenever I could. This song will always hold a special place in my heart and remind me of all those afternoons spent with my day on our way back home after he picked me up from school.
I’m still young... and this is my favorite game! My dad also told me about it. I never finished it at first. But after a couple years I finally finished the epilogue and fully completed the game. It drove me to absolute tears. I wish games were like this still...
English version is also beautiful!! Even as a Japanese person, I don't have many friends to discuss the greatness of this game with. However, seeing the comments here and realizing that there are many others who are similarly moved, I feel a connection. While the memories of the game may fade, I want to connect hearts that can be moved by such stories. 一人のときは気付かなかった(When I was alone, I didn't realize) 目に染みるような青空を(The sky so vivid it pierces the eyes.) 一人のときは聞こえなかった(When I was alone, I couldn't hear) 胸をふるわせる風の音を(The sound of the wind that makes my heart tremble.) 教えてくれたのは誰かではなく(It wasn't someone who taught me,) いつでも近くにいて励ましてくれる(But someone always close, encouraging me.) あなたの鼓動 感じながら 思い描いたわ(Feeling your heartbeat, I envisioned it,) 微笑み交わし 出された手を 戸惑って(Exchanging smiles, hesitating as you extended your hand,) つないでいるの二人(The two of us connected.) 一人のときは分からなかった(When I was alone, I didn't understand) 本当の寂しさということ(What true loneliness meant.) 一人のときは探せなかった(When I was alone, I couldn't search) 朝があけるのを待つわけを(For the reason to await the dawn.) あふれる日の光 包まれるとき(In the overflowing daylight, enveloped in it,) 両手でできる限り 伸ばし抱きしめる(I stretch my hands as far as I can, embracing.) あなたと私 とりまくもの 色帯びていく(You and I, surrounded by everything, become more vibrant,) 私とあなた 導くもの 照らし出す(Me and you, guiding each other, illuminating,) 肩を寄せ合う二人(The two of us leaning on each other.) あなたと私 はるか遠く 離れ離れでも(You and I, though far apart,) 私とあなた きっといつか 出会えるわ(Me and you, surely someday we'll meet,) 強く引き合う二人(The two of us strongly drawn together.")
man i shit you not , when i played this game and beat it for the first time. i loved it so much i played and beat it again 7 more times CONSECUTIVELY. my all time favorite game
This game made me want to rip kittens apart. You spend half the game trying to contact the goddess althena, whom you know is Luna if you played Silver Star Story, only to find out she opted to live as a human and has been dead for thousands of years. THAT'S COLD BRO. And then to top it off you meet Nall, who talks about how much he misses Alex and Luna and the others. YES SO DO I, NALL, SHUT UP.
I work for a health insurance company. I call providers all day long. Today, I called a provider in Green Cove Springs, FL with this theme song as their background music while you wait.
You wont ever find any games nowdays with endings like this, endings that give you closure to a game with a smile, but still wonder what happened canonically to all those characters in the later years.
A lot of fans overthink the ending to Lunar 2. Asking what’s going to happen to Hiro with Lucia? Is he going to age and then leave her alone again? But they are missing the point of it. It doesn’t matter what’s going to happen or if it will happen. What matters is the time they have together and memories they will make. There will always be a time we lose our love ones but it’s the time we make with them that matters most. To quote Vision from Avengers: Age of Ultron, “A thing isn’t beautiful because it lasts.” While Lucia wanted to avoid the pain of possibly outliving Hiro, it would have likely hurt even worst being separated from him than using the time they have together and make the most of it. Her expression when she sees Hiro again says it all, she missed him so much even though she didn’t leave that long ago. Instead of questioning Hiro’s decision, we should respect the fact he chose to spend the rest of his life with the woman he loves on a planet that is being reborn. It’s such a powerful ending to a great JRPG.
I am glad that i am one of the people played this wonderful game with magical songs like lunar silver star.....i am.sad because game makers never make games like this anymore
When I first played FF7 when i was 12 i was blown away, but later on after it I played Lunar SSSC and had to play EB right after and i was in complete mantears over this and SSSC when I got to both of the endings....Those cutscenes...Those characters...No other RPG's will ever define my youth like SSSC and EB. God damn I love Lunar. I just wish the developers didn't go their separate ways after Lunar 2 and made a lunar 3 back then.
I wish enough people knew about Lunar for there to be more people playing it's music on instruments. I would love to hear an acoustic guitar version of this.
The Lunar games have been among my favorite RPGs of all time since the Sega CD era. Ghaleon is hands-down one of the best characters in any JRPG, and he's not even one of the player characters; his return in Eternal Blue was probably one of the more excitable WTF moments I've ever had, and his redemption also made me have so much respect for him. I absolutely adore Lucia and how she develops throughout the game, but I've always preferred Jessica of Silver Star and Jean of Eternal Blue. I guess I've always had a thing for strong, independent, firebrand-type of women. :)
I've never had the opportunity to play this masterpiece but I did hear this song and the rest of the music from Eternal Blue and I fell madly in love with the music. Especially this song and I put the song on repeat so much that I know it all by heart! If the music is this phenomenal. I could only imagine how perfect the game is! To the creators of this game ya'll deserve awards!
may you one day be blessed to play this game and its epilogue which is the true ending..lunar 2 is 2 games in one really... i love and own both games on playstation. and the soundtracks. i almost missed out on lunar 2 ... years after it came out in the USA i thought i would never get it... and then one day at a MALL game store.... i askes the clerk.... the trick i learned about games esp rare games is to ask BY NAME THE GAME and they sometimes keeo them have them under the desk as special sale items... and i got lucky and not only got lunar 2 but the OMAke BOX Set with it and the pendant and everything it comes with.... i owned the original game and everything with it for years... it took years t get the second one and all it entailed too... may you be blessed i pray you are ... much love friend.... much love!!!! ^___________^
I remember getting the mirror at the end of the game that allowed you to rewatch all the cut scenes as much as you wanted. Probably my all time favorite item of any RPG. I watched them all so much!
I come here from time to time. Strictly to become young again and live thru the story by song. So many people will never know the depth of so many games. Sad day. But hey remember, our love is meant to be!
The first VG/anime song I ever stopped to learn the lyrics of as a kid; reaching the end of this game and having this song play to you is its own reward.
When I was alone as one My eyes were as blind I know Sky briliance with blue elegance I couldn't behold When I was alone as one My heart was as ice so cold Wind whispering sweet melodies I could not behold Sight to my eyes And warm trough my heart Your love had been such to me Pull closer now And strengthen my leaning Toward love to heal all my wound When our heart both beat in time There's magic in your smile It seems there's nothing we can't do And within your warm embrace My heart will find the place Even from afar Our love forever shall be destiny When I was alone as one My eyes were as blind I know Sky brilliance with blue elegance I couldn't behold When I was alone as one My heart was as ice so cold Wind whispering sweet melodies I could not behold Sight to my eyes And warm trough my heart Your love had been such to me Pull closer now And strengthen my leaning Toward love to heal all my wound When our heart both beat in time There's magic in your smile It seems there's nothing we can't do And within your warm embrace My heart will find the place Even from afar Our love forever shall be destiny When our heart both beat in time There's magic in your smile I know there's nothing we can't do And within your warm embrace My heart will find the place Even from afar Our love eternal shall be destiny
If the ever remake this on any system I don't care how much it cost I will have it to play XD It still remains my favorite RPG and overall my favorite game in general
shit... I haven't heard this song in what must be over 10 years maybe. I've never forgotten Lunar 2, the game never left my mind just never looked it up on youtube. oh shit the nostalgia.... :/
i simply love this song, one of the best games i have played and i still hold it close to me. i barelly understood what she said in the song and the lyrics helped me alot. thanks!
i have goosebumps, i have teary eyes, i want to return to the past. my childhood memories of playing this game. i wish my children could play this kind of game.
oh my i feel for you you would love and adore lunar 2 so much i hope you can play it some day i own both games and they are my fav games of all time. may you be blessed and able my friend ^__^ it took me years to obtain lunar 2 i almost didnt get it but fate would have it that i did its a long story... i was blessed.... much love!!
A little late here, but I hope you got around to it mate! Lunar 2, while not quite as masterful as Silver Star Story in my eyes, it's still one of the greatest JRPGs ever made. It wraps up the series so well, just an amazing experience!
I really love this song. goes great with where it's used. One of my fav songs from a game of all time. From one of the greatest games/series to be made.
This franchise was not treated as well as it deserved to be. Everything was good until they just kept remaking Silver Star for some reason. The only time they tried an actually new game, it was the garbage Dragon Song, and Magic School was never imported to the US at all.
Swordfish T So many great games. So many great movies. So many great animes. So many great characters (Godzilla!!!). So many great and Unique ideas that they keep using. Japan is awesome.
Lunar is still.my favourite game series ever. I want then to so badly release it onto the PSN store. They truly do not make games like these anymore. Silver Star especially will always hold a special place in my heart.
just finished eternal blue. i love this series. what i liked is that they mentioned the characters and showed some connections from the first game (who we know and love). nice song too. if they made an anime of this, a full one, i'd definitely watch it.
On one hand I am sad that Lunar really only got two games, but on the other tbh the story is already completed I mean they already solved all the plot holes and everybody got a happy ending, even Ghaleon. If there was a Lunar 3 it's gonna be somebody totally unrelated and the only thing linking them if at all would be Lunar the planet...that's just barely better than Final Fantasy or Link series where the only thing linking them all are the names. Plus, if even the best story makers like Square end up with crap after a while if the makers continued churning out Lunars they are eventually gonna put up shitty games like that Dragon song game. It's better to come out on top that's probably why they just keep remaking Lunar and don't make new games.
Is it wrong to love a game as if it was a person. Why didn't this one get a hand held remake like the first. I love the lunar series so much I still bought dragon song.
I'm with everyone else here. Something special about this game, and the music and characters within it. My parents divorced in the 90's, I lived with my mom and my older brother lived with my dad. We were in the same city so I still saw them on weekends. My brother got a Sega CD, and I remember how amazing it was playing through the first Lunar. Lunar 2 was released in '95 about a week before my mom and I moved away to another Province. My brother and I rented (yes kids, RENTED) Lunar 2 and powered our way through it before I had to leave. Good times.
Its beautiful cant wait to play both lunar silver star story and lunar 2 eternal blue when the collection comes out next year i never played the original games on playstation
Jennifer Stigile. She does the voice for the character Ruby, and she also sang the opening and boat songs in the first Lunar game. Which I'll upload soon.
@MrBalfazaar i did play Silver Star until recently (and it was the PSP remake) but i got Eternal Blue back when it came out, and to this day it is the only game that i could play over and over again without being bored. I grew up on this game. no joke.
