Lund Pro Tip: Dylan Maki and Lund Sport Trak Bracket 

I love these Lund Sportrak brackets. I use them for trolling with Cannon 2" rod holders. It is annoyingly difficult to buy extra Sportrak brackets. I've got to go to my dealer, who isn't close by. Really wish Lund would wake up and put them on their website. I had the honor and opportunity to fish with Dylan Maki at the Lund Ultimate Fishing Camp at Leech Lake in Walker, MN this summer. Dylan is an outstanding guide and fisherman - and a great guy. We really enjoyed our 4 days with him at the camp. I highly recommend using him as a pro guide. He has some very innovative techniques for walleyes that greatly out-fished the other guides.

I like the design. I have the original friction fit brackets, and have a difficult time moving them (usually requires a hammer and wood block to break them free). When will they be available?

My idea is have a double track on the transom for talons. Maybe put something that's threaded on the very top of the transom on both sides where you tighten with a wrench to hold a talon on. Then someone doesn't have to drill holes or take the motor off to put a bracket on.

An improvement would be if to have two latch pins one closing to right one closing to left and made of aluminum rather than plastic.

Buy a generic clamp rod holder and avoid the Sport-trak system altogether.

I just bought this and the dealer never bothered to tell me that I would need to drill holes or buy special nuts and bolts for this stupid system. A total ripoff.

Where are these brackets available?

When you buy a Lund boat, don’t expect ANY extras/freebies. Lund nickels & dimes you to death. Except they aren’t nickles & dimes. THEY’RE FIFTIES & HUNDREDS!$!$!💵💵💵👎

Super fast, and way less robust and durable than the previous design. Now all of the load is transferred thru a single 1/4" connection point, and all the stress has to be handled by the bit of plastic surrounding that pin. I bet these crack at that connection point in a couple of years. Step back IMO.
