Lung King Heen is a legendary fine dining Cantonese restaurant located in the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong. Led by Chef de Cuisine Chan Yan-Tak.
In 2009, it became the first Chinese restaurant to ever receive a 3 Michelin Star. Since, it has achieved 3 Star status for 14 consecutive years. However, in 2023, it lost a Star.
Chef Tak pioneered a number of concepts/dishes. I was thrilled to have the pleasure to dining here and enjoy some of his signature dishes.
If you're ever in Hong Kong, this is a must stop dining experience!

Enjoyed watching this. I visited Hong Kong a few years back and fell in love with Tin Lung Heen at the Ritz-Calton. They also had a chilled mango & sago cream with pomelo. Tastiest dessert ever! So refreshing.

really enjoyed the pacing of this video. loved seeing the chef and manager give their thought process in the beginning. i know some comments mention you being too front and center in the video - but i respectfully disagree. i really enjoyed your thoughts and commentary. it adds a more personable element that can’t be simply copied from any other food reviewer/commentator. keep it up!

Nice video. Some comments mention the fixing of the camera which I agree. It is too shaky sometimes. Put it on a tripod and leave it there, or get a gimbal. Gimbal also stabilizes images. Hope you make much more videos!

You need to work on explaining food better. A lot of audiences do not work in the food/beverage industry. For example, explain the texture difference between the two kinds of egg tarts. Don't just say what it is and how it tastes to you. Camera angle needs to be fixed on the food more versus you. Good luck

I’m inclined to agree with this comment. Need better shots of the food. You have way too much screen time. All the sit down shots of you make it seem like you’re a show host or some celebrity lol. It’s slightly off putting tbh as the food should be the star here not you, maybe one day you can pivot but not for a new channel. Obviously it’s a balance with wanting to build your audience, but the food shots seem like an afterthought. Good editing though.

I was here a few years ago when it had 3 stars. To be honest, I was not impressed, and quite disappointed. The price was not crazy, but it just didn't deliver. Some of the items on the tasting menu were bland. Perhaps a bad night. The Chairman in Central, has 3 stars, and deserves it.

First of all that looks delicious but as a westener one question comes up. What about the beverages? In the west you usually get a wine pairing to every single dish. Isn´t that the case in Chinese cuisine? Is everything so juice and succulent that you do not need any drinks?

Oh my.... I wish more Chinese specifically Cantonese restaurants are of this caliber. The reality is majority of Chinese customers do not appreciate true European (French, Italian, Spanish etc) fine dining experience with its proper service, plating, presentation and wine pairings. It's just lost and not valued. Heck, I've been told the ruder the wait staff, the better the food... So SAD...
@haotang
@haotang 2 месяца назад
I agree! And I, myself, didn't really appreciate Chinese food enough as a fine dining option. I'm used to only dining at Western restaurants for fine dining. Your point can even be seen from some of these comments. From people who have never tried, yet so sure of their opinions and judgement. You won't know until you've experienced it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

@@haotang SO true. I remember one of my Michelin 3 star experience in Paris.... In between courses, I slid my chair as I needed to go to the boy's room. Without me asking, a staff person immediately approached me, assisted me to pull my chair, took my napkin and escorted me. He KNEW why I was getting up ! Once I was done, as I opened the restroom door, a totally different staff person saw me and approached me and simply said: "This way sir" . He escorted me back, again, without asking. This second staff person knew where I was seated ! That place must have had 100+ customers that evening. This was 30 years ago and I still remember it to this day.
