This Harvard Medical School Continuing Education video examines these key questions about point-of-care lung ultrasound: what basic artifacts can be seen at the solid-air interface, and how do you obtain views of the lung across all eight lung zones?
Associate Residency Program Director of Point-of-Care Ultrasound at Massachusetts General Hospital, Dan Restrepo, MD, FHM, reviews artifacts that can be seen on healthy lung ultrasounds, including A-lines and lung comets, and explains how probe position relates to artifact creation. Dr. Restrepo identifies the lung zones important to successful lung ultrasound scanning.
