When I was young, we ignored such songs for trash. Then I moved to the U.S and I am a kikuyu and I swear I have listened to kamba, kalenjin, luo, Maasai music. The really traditional stuff. A nyatiti makes me feel so solemn. The funny thing is my whole family lived in Kisumu for a long time so my grandparents and my mom's siblings all speak luo and not a word of Kikuyu. We are the Ngugi's who speak luo. How's that for tribalism?
We get to value and appreciate our culture and heritage once we get to live within other cultures. Kids growing up in the Diaspora appreciate their identity more than kids growing up in Nairobi.
Ayub Osman thats true bro. N its only in political season, tht politicians try to synthetize Kenyans on their tribal affiliations.N nkama tulirogwa we end up retreating to our tribal coccoons,n especially when the negative sentiments r churned out,its just sad. #tribeALL #proudkenyan #KenyaKwanza
Rick Rhymes yea bro there is nothing these politicians do for us never put food on our table yet we are there hating our neighbours who at least if not food help us with chumvi n many #lovekenya #onepeople
Ayub Osman yeah thts right.N u knw the most sickening thing is tht whenever they (politicians) rally pple to demonstrate illegally, their wives n kids r not there,so you follow these guys blindly, n if they in any chance get hurt, they hv medical insurance and they will get medicare frm the best hsptals as well as the best medical practioners, wee unawafuata tuu ka zuzu, na wanama'biashara most sana, wakofinacially stable, its just pity to follow them
Rick Rhymes yea bro unawafuata mara you are attacked by bees mara teargas why must we face all these lol but we hope the best for our country cz the temperature in the these politics is never less now
That chemistry demonstrates how we can appreciate ethnic backgrounds positively rather than the usual negative vibes uttered by most politicians.Big up guys!
damn havent been in kenya for the last 12yrs, can we just get along plz?Kikuyus and Luos compliment each other very well and to be honest if this two tribes get along, all other tribes will follow and im not really undermining other tribes but the root cause of political turmoil that we are currently experiencing in Kenya as caused by the disagreement between the kikuyu and the the Luo, lets face it.But good video though
Can't help dancing to our Kenyan tunes. It makes me miss my motherland. We need embrace each other this way & put away our political differences.Great Show Jeff & Jalas @Shanghai_China
