I really wanted it get this done in time for the last episode being posted just as a little celebration for the McElroys, my friends who are fans, and myself. It is not as polished as I was aiming for, but for my first animatic in years, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
The Adventure Zone has been a really fun and special podcast for me and I am so grateful to the McElroys for sharing this wacky fun and emotional story with us. Thank y'all so much!
I'm mentally filing this as a work-in-progress still. I may return to this later and add some things I wasn't able to add, but here it is for now.

How Griffin makes that feel so real and not corny is amazing to me. He made this silly world feel real. Balance is a true piece of art and even history.

I have listened to this twice now, once here and once on the podcast, and for reasons I can't explain, in both instances, "Tom Bodett" is the exact moment I begin to tear up.

IMAGINE LISTENING TO THIS EVEN JUST AFTER FINISHING MOONLIGHTING... LIKE EVEN WHEN YOU KNOW ABOUT THE VOIDFISH AND JOHAN AND STUFF... EVEN THEN JUST IMAGINE HOW TONALLY DIFFERENT THIS IS, IN THE ABSOLUTE BEST WAY! I'm relistening to the podcast and man its super different at the beginning and i totally forgot that but WOW this is such a powerful moment

id used to watch taz animatics for years and years before i finally picked up the podcast itself a few days ago. ive been binging it so fast and have started ep 69 and keep procrastinating on listening to it bc im not ready for it to end. in the very beginning id used to be like OK THIS IS SO TONALLY DIFFERENT FROM WHAT IVE SEEN IN ANIMATICS WHATS GOING ON and then slowly as i passed every 10 chapters i was starting to get emotional like pls,,,,pls put it back in sorry. its been absolutely wonderful and im so in awe of griffins story telling

If there’s one scene in this entire podcast that will always make me tear up, it’s “Hear that babe? We’re legends!” Followed immediately by “You’re going to have to fight...and...you’re going to WIN!” Followed by that glorious crescendo in the music.

I accidentally pressed a button on my earbuds and missed this entire section in the episode, and skipped right to the beginning of the battle with John on the Starblaster. I'm so glad I found this animatic, or else I would've missed this super epic scene!

this scene, i have listened to and relistened to over and over again since it came out, and so far, i have never seen a more accurate and mind numbingly beautiful visual interpretation of it than this one right here. i am so glad you did this, to give an image to a scene that brought tears to my eyes, and managed to bring them back again with how wonderfully you have adapted it. thank you, so much

Absolutely amazing! I could watch this over and over for hours. On a side note, does anyone know if griffin ever put this scene's version of the song and story song up somewhere?
