Lupe Will Forever Be In My Top 5, His Intellect Combined With His Creativity Plus His Song Topics Are Virtually Unparalleled. He's Great Although He May Not Get The Credit He Deserves.
So much truth in the statement my dude, props! That's true he won't get the credit he deserves probably until he dies out of nowhere and people will come out and finally say "he was the GOAT", "lyrical genius", "I always admired him". Smh.
Lupe is my favorite on this beat. He brings it here! Compared to the others that used this beat, his is the only one I could listen to continuously. The others sound alright, but Lupe gets off on it:)
Bro dont ever compare Lupe to Wayne.. I've never got a little wayne metaphor, or anything, years after knowing the song by heart.. You can listen to lupes songs.. and still find new things that went over your head.. Thats why wayne is so popular.. he dumbed it down.. Lupe is really in another stratosphere.. Only hiphop head can truly appreciate Lupe.. Lupe is a rappers favorite rapper.. But not a rap pop star.
Motoi Pearson The Only heads this flew over was the Ones who were bumping lil wayne at the Time calling him the GOAT and who werent listening to this fire.
He's always been the same he's just realized with his music he can achieve greatness by trying to change the world and educate them, Lupe has just evolved he's always been a philosopher to an extent
My favorite part is 2:06 to 2:30. That's the part that made my heartbeat fast as hell when first heard it (yesterday). I love Lupe, he's fresh and never recycles styles. He always fresh.
***** Word, his ideology has been a bit contradictory to his actions a bit lately too. For instance speaking out against or outright shitting on artists who brag about certain things or promote certain life styles. But then openly promotes Drake to the point that he's now dedicated a day of the week & a new song to him/the ladies (Drizzy's Law). I'd like to think that he's trolling.....but if it's an act it's a bit TOO convincing.
OgI Kidd he co signs Drake because he is honest with his feelings and reflects on his problems with his father and being worried about relationships. Drake only talks about money and bitches in a couple of songs, you're just not listening.
Iam I listened to his entire last album, and yes the only things he was talking about was money and women. Many of his songs started off "Oh girl I mis you *cry cry*" and then the verses turned into "But we getting money, fuckin bitches n'shit" then back to "but none of them mean as much to me as you do *cry*....No but really guys I'm a thug who really struggles....Honest". Drake is the very thing Lupe has been preaching against up to this point.
For those who doubt this guy check this out Lyrics: "Lu don't moo (move) no cowards (cow-words) (cow-herds), you only heard lines (lions)." Don't doubt the skill peoples. haha
This is the lupe i like. The chill introspective tone in this combined with his intellect is what made him so good back in the day. But now its a lot of political stuff, which although is worth speaking about i didnt like as much
Lmao wtf. Lupe always been political. I hate when people try to stifle artists on speaking on issues important to them. If you really want Lupe to be apolitical, then you really aren't a fan of his content
@Tom Ross TV RAW no, it’s because politics doesnt make for good sounding rap in my opinion, it’s why I could never get into rappers like tech nine. I like learning about and engaging with politics in books.
@hanslouis145 i listen to lupe all the time. he is my favourite rapper alive. bar, state run radio, i dont wanna care, and show goes on, i love the album. words i never said speaks so much truth, out of my head is sick, all black was inspiarional to me, im beaming tells the hater to get to fuck, and letting go is a decent track. i dont think its right to say it "wasnt that good" i think you just dont like his new style so much. which is cool.
i kno what you sayin, its kinda like jay when they said he fell off. he had one bad album and came back hard, i hope that wayne stops feelin himself and get back to the shit that put him on top. much love to lupe, cass, jada, and all the real lyricists out there.
I like how the picture of Jay and Lupe Show how Lupe actualy puts on a real face while Jay z just hides behind his shades with his Dumb looking mouth open, Same pose as the 90's
Wayne is a rapper. Lupe is a lyricist. Wayne makes music for the ignorant masses who don't appreciate art. Lupe makes music from the heart, true lyricism and artistry. Wayne sells millions of records cause most rap fans aren't truly into hip hip. Lupe sells less cause the masses don't want art, they want bullshit. So I give Wayne props. He has a place in rap. But true "heads" know Lupe is one of the top 10 lyricists of all time. Do we all agree?
@NICKD92570 I was actually thinkin tha same thing about Jay lol, but he did say old Jay-Z and I like one or two of his old songs so I didn't say nothin, I like a couple traccs Doom has done on DJ's albums and I like a smokin song he did bacc in tha day, but yea for tha most part I don't like tha way he flows on tha beat
@ahwowlovely so your bashing the album off of beats? LMFAO, you already lost dude. I guess Gucci Mane has a classic album because he has good beats. The beats don't make the rapper. The rapper makes the BEATS. If you can take an average beat and turn it into something amazing, that's true talent. Yeah, BMF was wack, but what about the other 100 freestyles that SLAY camel-Z?
ah its a kid out the south by the name of lil wiley ppl comparing him to lupe..he's a great inspiring artist who will be a superstar soon different style and make good clean postive music..check him out lil wiley (can u stand the rain) and lil wiley (we gone make it) he's real..its real rap hip hop is not dead .check this kid out
well i think lupe is far more talented than lil wayne lyrically n how he make the music flow but he realli is underrated i think lil wayne is bigger than lupe because lil wayne rappin bout wat these teenagers wanna hear but dats my opinion tho
@ahwowlovely the cool and f & l are classics. What other rapper has done what Lupe did with the Cool? This man created a MOVIE out of an album. Created 3 characters off of metaphors of street violence. come on.
nd whoever says wayne version is better cuz he wrote it carefully is stupid, wayne jus goes in the studio, smokes some kush, nd then he gets to work, yall need to listen to his songs nd learn somethin bout him
@ahwowlovely Beats are important, but its not EVERYTHING. Gucci MAne and Waka has hot beats, does that mean they have classc albums? The rapper MAKES the beats, not the other way around.
@ahwowlovely lol @ them sounding like great mixtapes. do you HEAR yourself? have u even HEARD those albums? The Cool was more creative than Camel-Z has EVER done in his 300 year career. are you serious?
i really hate how in almost every rap youtube video comment you see someone talking about lil wayne...real rap heads know wayne is garbo and the more you talk about him only helps his career
Yea Black Thought is that shit too. He speaks the truth when he raps. Same with Immortal Technique,Supastition, and a few other underground rappers, One-Be-Low, People Under the Stairs. Real hip-hop.
@10fanboy i honestly dont get why people say lil waynes garbage if you listen to his songs there some crazy lyrics, hes just a sellout, listen to his other stuff that isnt famous
its not on a album, its a mixtape joint. Any time you hear another rapper rap on a industry beat best believe its a mixtape song...they don't wanna pay publishers to use the beat
It’s not that they don’t want to pay, the mixtape era was a different culture. Paying publishers wasn’t a part of the dynamic at large. It was much more geared towards the artists and allowing them to freely be creative.
