ABOUT THIS PRESENTATION
Fibromyalgia is a disorder that can occur alone or secondary to connective tissue disorders such as lupus. Studies suggest that about 25% of people who have lupus also have fibromyalgia. It is important for people who have lupus to learn about fibromyalgia because symptoms of both conditions can be similar, but the treatments are different.

I was first dx'd with Fibromyalgia then years later, Lupus. One of the first things that got me a Fibro dx is the tender spots cuz they affected me so much when lying down, trying to sleep. They actually felt like severe hematomas. I couldn't get backrubs from my husband once it started cuz it felt like he was pushing on bruises. I wonder why that part of it was eliminated. Very informative video.

I was dx with lupus first and then fibro. My rheumatologist of almost 30 years just retired and I am having a hard time trying to get another one who understands like he did.

"expert medical advice" and fibromyalgia in the same sentence is a riot.

Thank you for your work and research. Does lupus cause a slow heart beat, a beat under 60 bpm?

Has there been any research into nitrates in connection with fibromyalgia? I recently cut out nitrates and noticed an improvement.

This was amazing. I tried to see if Dr. A Small had a RU-vid channel, but didn't see one. I did manage to find her on maps though! Too bad I'm in Canada LOL Anyway ... I had chronic infections as a toddler, and was very young (9yo) when I started complaining about physical pain, it was "growing pains". Then it was all "in my head". I fought through and had a very physically active youth. Gymnastics, running, swimming, basketball, wrestling, I bicycled everywhere, and MORE. I was ALWAYS in pain. So it was of course those activities that caused that according to everyone. So as I got older the sports slowed drastically, but I began working in very physical conditions, and of course driving. The pain remained the same. How was this possible? I wasn't doing so much, yet the pain was the same, or worse! I meet my ex when I was 17yo. My ex husband remained cemented that it was in my head. I had MANY TESTS. MANY SURGERIES, including breast reduction age 20yo, and hysterectomy at 36yo. + about 11 more. My ex still remains on the thought its in my head. And we separated 11yys ago. I had been FINALLY diagnosed with fibro at age 34 or so. I have had serious back injuries. And I'm now on disability, but still work when I can. I was told at 25yo I'd be in a wheelchair by 40yo. I'm now 46yo, and still have many things happening in my body that I'm honestly not wanting to tell my Dr because she always looks at me like I'm a hypochondriac. She is doing the same to my daughter now, who is 25yo. And I worry for my daughter! Is she going to have my issues? She is basically a "copy & paste" of me! And has struggled with the same pains. My son is 20yo and has some of the issues, but he seems to be on the lighter end of symptoms.
