Waterbased primers are no problem, The acrylics I used in this video are waterbased too and the lures where dipped in a waterbased polyurethane as a clear coat. The coat did not dry even and smooth probably because of the amounts of glue, so next time i would seal it first with some createx 4050 or using a spraycan with regular varnish that would also work perfectly. I am going to paint some more details on these lures later and give them an a coat or 2 with epoxy and that will make em look good again 👍😊
Thank you! This glue will go transparent so you also just apply on the blank and then the pigments, this way it will stay transparent 👌👍 or mix some pigment with 4050 and spray that directly, that will also create a transparent effect with a colorshift 👊
A few options come to mind, Either you basecoat the lure first with these pigments and then put the mesh on, then shoot a transparent dark brown or black bait in an angle ( from the back of the lure towards the front) This way you will only darken the beginning of all the scales and give a realistic look, especially with the white ones. Or paint your scale pattern first, then glue the whole thing or some random scales ( the glue is transparent so it does not interfere with the scales) and brush on the powder only on the scales that you want. That is going to give a cool effect too 👊✨
