But aren't you catching the prespawners? Still filled with eggs aren't they? Would be the same as removing bedding fish and transporting them some other place. I don't see the difference
@@donyarborough4114If they have not laid they will simply pick up where they left off when released. Perhaps on a different nest with a different mail, but they will lay. The females don’t spend much time around the bed anyway. The males are the primary nest builders; females pretty much lay eggs and move on. So, unless you’re actually catching them in the act, it’s not going to interfere with their spawning.
@Boethius411 I feel tournaments should be banned until the fry emerge. Pulling a Male off its nest leaves it vulnerable to opportunist Gills and other Predators. After all, the future of Bass fishing is at stake here!
@Boethius411 thanks. I certainly understand that. My point is so much has been made about fish conservation. Don't fish during the spawn, don't fish when the water is warm, don't fish using ffs. It's a lot of don't. Yet continuing to do exactly that. I love bass fishing and my local lake is as good as ever. I just don't understand all the negativity surrounding our sport

One thing I am actually concerned about is that we’re going to end up with some very limiting seasons imposed, creel limits, etc. Every time I hear some kid defending something by comparing it to hunting, I think, yeah and I get a couple months all year to strap on a rifle. I’d really rather not have fishing go that way. I do think there’s more tournament organizers should do to promote conservation. Largely because trends flow downhill from them in bass fishing. It did bother me for years when I watched the Top guys supposedly in the world starting the season off in Florida and then moving north basically chasing the spawn for the next 3-4 months. It was done because people tuned in to see big fish caught and that was the best time. After that though they immediately started beating up the best ledge lakes, especially the TVA lakes in the hottest part of the year when all the studies were showing that was even worse as far as mortality rates than the spawn. If we don’t want all of those don’ts imposed on us by the state, heck, just if tournament organizers want to return to these lakes and have successful events, then there actually is a lot of things to consider when planning schedules and determining what is allowed.
I'm glad that you mentioned the water temperature... Lot of us go by temperature than by the MONTH .. As Wisconsin April is nowhere close to the April in Missouri , or Florida , and so on and so on...

I kicked ass on a Vision 110 JR on a pond catching smallmouth and Largemouth black and Silver with a touch of Purple…Those hooks on the 110jr are RIDICULOUSLY SHARP…I live in northern NJ and water is still cold 40s lots of rain we’ve gotten fish aren’t up shallow on banks yet but are moving from deep towards the shallow mid Column
Watched the "post cold front" video the other day. I'm a few hours west of you, Randy, so we're getting a lot of the same weather. I went out the next day and applied what I learned and was the only one catching fish after fish among 5 other people around the pond. Some got irritated and left. I’m now understanding how the ewg can fail and I’ve had my flukes ball up in my before when setting the hook. I’d love to run mine like you showed but as a creek fisherman…weedless rules everything. I guess I have to keep that in mind. Decisions decisions
My main strat for the Googan squad tournament is lipless crankbait and spinnerbait. Already taking notes for the April switch and already got most of what i need.
I have found over the years that when I can’t get a bite on anything else that I can put on a watermelon seed worm and start slamming them, I have no clue why but it has always worked for some reason!

Hey Randy do you still catch smaller bass on that bigger Magdraft? Just wondering because I have the 6in but figured that the bigger size would scare them off but I always hear that the bigger bait draw out the bass more.
Do you ever do videos on the water? There are hundreds of RU-vidrs that just sit in the house and talk and anyone can talk about how to rig a bait or fish one even if they don't have a clue. Watching someone actually catch fish would be much more interesting.

Randy, all due respect I’m sure your parents were not thrilled with u not getting a good job with a pension when u chose this career. Casinos always crash as this pro fishing career has. Look around u if all these grown me living on “clicks” now to feed their family. It comes with the territory u chose and as long as your channel has strong opinion burn to earth shout outs u must expect what comes back. Try to ride this for a few more years. Wisely.
