Listen man, I absolutely love dub with every ounce of my being. I have a collection of literally hundreds of jams I listen to that are strictly dub. You literally have the most infectous style... It gets in my bones and stays there.
It's great what you can do with such 'basic' instruments as the Volcas. A bit of fx gives you a 'professional' sound... and there's something about playing live, the human expression, that gives electronic music it's soul back😃😃😃
Thanks! Well Lee Perry used the original (Mutron Bi Phase) in the Black Ark Studio and since i'm a huge fan of his productions from this time i always wanted one. When i found the Pi Phase used i couldn't resist ;) I also have a EHX Small Stone, which has a nice, warm vintage sound but it is way simpler, you can only control the rate. Same goes to the MXR Phase 90 which i tried once. Then i have a tremonti phaser from t.rex but this one has a very digital sound, can be nice on pianos for modern dub/reggae stuff. What i really like on the pi phase is all the controls you have, how you could route the 2 phasers and of course the unique sound. There are other dual phasers which i'm shure are nice too but i never tried one. there are some rumours that mike beigel will recreate the mutron bi phase but this can take some time...
