I was there in 2001 at Madison sqaure garden. It was the MJ 30th anniversary concert. I worked for a big record label there as an A&R rep and joked to my boss to not give me a bonus that year, just get me into the concert. He did-it was life changing. No one had a clue Luther was gonna be there. All dude had to do was belt out a note and the whole damn crowd made me deaf for 2 weeks. Everyone knew it was him. Probably the most recognizable R&B voice of all time. The amount of talent that night was absolutely unbelievable.

I remember back in the day, every time I would hear this on the radio, I would press record on my boom box. I had it on so many cassette tapes. These youngstas today don't know about what it meant to WAIT to hear your favorite song. Or to have to go downstairs where the record player was to hit the needle on the vinyl. Good times.
