Who remembers this classic?

I was very proud of the hatters that night despite the turn-around at the end. Although we lost this one, it was possibly the highlight of our 2005-06 season. We had a really good team as well. This was the last great season before the wheels-came-off... I remember our fourth round tie against Blackburn was also featured on live TV one year later, but by then we were a shadow of the team we had been on that night of Saturday 07th January 2006. Liverpool were European Champions and would go on and win the FA Cup that season, so certainly no disgrace.

I tend to watch the full game to reminisce the good old days from time to time. I'll never forget this game watching it with pals at University. The full 90 mins game is definitely worth a watch. The atmosphere in the Kenny that day could be heard all over Luton. Credit to the Liverpool fans who played a great role in bringing one of the most memorable games in our clubs recent History. We need to bring this kinda atmosphere in PL games. I have to admit its been a little disappointing at home games with picnic fans just happy to watch PL football not realising they are supposed to play a part too. This is the main difference between our home and away performamces. The fans on Away days deserve all the recognition in the world as they have been the best Away fans in PL so far. Unfortunately I couldnt get a ticket for the game but all those that are in attendance better play their part or for the love of God just stay at home and let someone thats going to vocally support the players on the field attend the games.

As a Liverpool fan, I am now fully convinced that Xabi Alonso should Manage Liverpool after Kloop.

Probably one of the best games ive been to at luton . Luton were fantastic.

I remember watching this live on tv. My abiding memory is the replay of Xabi Alonso’s late goal. You see Steven Gerrard having a meltdown when Alonso doesn’t pass to him and then quickly changing to applause when it ends up in the back of the net! I think I recall Ian Wright wetting himself laughing! 🤣😅😂

It's amazing how loud a small stadium can get. Respect to Luton Town fans!

I do I got told to shut up when Liverpool scored. My nephew is a luton fan and stout luton fan been one since 2010 been to approx 440 games. But what a game that was! And the same passion is there today as there was then respect to luton!

Great game. I remember thinking at the time the the Hatters were fatigued towards the end of the match from the fixture congestion up to that point of the season.

Alonso, truly a great shooter with both of his feet. Such accuracy, he’s up there, one of the goats 🐐

This is how the boys should be set up and allowed to approach their games against the current top 6. Villa were allowed far too much time on the ball.

No one mentioned it: the Luton player trod on Carson's foot and fell over (for the penalty).He touched Carson, not the other way around.
