Theire is a recurrent theme in several of the Luv' singles which involves their having to reproof and correct an errant suitor, be it a dishonest one (Casanova), an overconfident one (Uome Waldolala), one with poor sense of timing and a one track mind (Trojan Horse) or a flat out clueless one (Shoes Off Boots On). In every case, Luv' has had to bring their expertise to the table to mentor the hapless suitors at least to the point where they are even remotely on the right page. The point? In addition to being just about the best there is at relentless optimism, Luv' executes that relentless optimism impeccably without fail, be it choreography, lyrical savvy or that absolutely stunning gift they have for vocal harmony. An obvious major influence on the trio Perfume, as well. Little wonder that I listen to Luv' daily, almost without exception. Patty, Marga and Jose are simply about as good as it gets.
I shed tears because I never had a chance to hear them in the USA. This is been my first opportunity. I would love to hear more. I feel like I missed a whole lifetime of Music from this group.
Hi Mat, i think it was the very late 70s or maybe 80 when LUV made a series of half hour tv programmes, it was just called LUV and it was shown on one of our commercial channels in England late at night but for some reson they never appealed to the English market.
That staggers the imagination. Same problem here in the States. I know quite a few record collectors and musicologists from around the world. Oddly enough, even though Luv' fits right in with what they would like, they remain largely indifferent to them. But I'm not giving up!
This is another of my favourite LUV songs, it,s a pity they never made it in the UK although they did show the TV series but no one was remotely interested.
No one remotely interested? I just can´t believe it. LUV better than ABBA.. LUV is so wonderful, that when I listen to it, I realize I need a time machine.
@@hugoalejandropinillacalder1553 I'm from the USA and I've never heard of this group before. I do suspect that it might have been my favorite group if I had had the opportunity to hear them. I find bits and pieces of their music on RU-vid but that's about it. I wish I had all of their albums.
@@BV-nq7wd Here in the USA, about the only hit they had was Trojan Horse, which was released on Polydor. They of course had a number of albums and dozens of 45s at home. At that time, import 45s and LPs were selling in copious amounts here in the States, but that had mostly to do with import pressings of the so-called punk/new wave releases (Sex Pistols, Elvis Costello, Clash, Dave Edmunds, Ramones, Nick Lowe, Stranglers, etc.). Unless a given import was a proven seller at the time (like the Walker Brothers' new albums), they just flat out were not available here. But it only took one listen to Trojan Horse back then for me to say, "I can't just let them go". It took a lot of effort to secure their releases back then, and I didn't even get them all. But it was worth the effort. Thankfully, they do turn up for sale online now, Yes, you are right. They are great. Happy hunting.
No, it wasn,t Waldolala, it was a 3 or 4 half our series just called LUV. Are you English Mat or are you dutch? We live in Spain and you can always find LUV singles and Luv Lps at flea markets, i have quite a collection of LUV singles.
