Thanks for letting them sing the original lyrics. I heard yung revised text version nito and hindi nag-swak yung lyrics sa music niya kaya ang awkward pakinggan at kantahin. Kaya I really suggest to others na huwag nang baguhin yung lyrics nitong version ng Luwalhati to fit the current translation. Marami namang new Gloria like the Birhen ng Antipolo version and current classics na pwedeng kantahin if you want the current missal translation.
I beg to disagree, napull off naman yung Revised Version na ginawa sa Diocese of Malolos nang maayos. Yes I prefer yung older translation, pero personally na ito ang paborito kong version ng Gloria in Filipino. Gusto ko rin ito maawit at marinig sa mga Diocese na sobrang strict sa Missal Text, and yung revised text nito ang isang paraan to actually magamit ang version na ito.
@@r41n31 I already commented dun sa video na yun. Wala naman ako issue sa pag-pull off nila ng kanta. I even commend the choir. Pero the problem lies in changing for the sake of changing. English missal was already updated to be more a literal translation of the Latin missal. Yung issue nila kasi dito is yung Luwalhati na ito is more like that, mas literal compared sa current Tagalog missal. Pero pinilit baguhin just to fit in the version of the Tagalog missal that was not reflecting the actual translation of the Latin missal. I even say there na CBCP should update the current missal para mas maitama. Kaya for me, wala there is no point of changing this Luwalhati kasi mas tama ito compared sa current. Nataon lang na nauna si Fr. Manoling than the changes in the missal. It doesn't mean na kung ano yung nasa Tagalog missal, ay it means tama na. That's why constant revision should always takes place. Also, always check the Latin since yun ang basis ng mga missal dapat. Besides, music-wise awkward yung revised text version kaya I discourage them singing it and instead choose other versions that reflect the current missal if they really want that.
I have nothing against Fr.Manoling, maganda yung composition niya. Pero mali ang text. Here's the context below. We are servants of the text and not the other way around. Only the Pope, the Dicastery for Divine Worship, may revise the Roman Missal. Even the translations to other languages must be approved by the Vatican. Liturgical laws also forbid priests from adding or removing texts in the Roman Missal; to do otherwise is considered abuse of the Liturgy. That having said, the only approved text in Tagalog for the Gloria is Papuri sa Diyos. The right course of action is for the composer to correct his text if it is to be used for liturgy. Otherwise, the prudent action is to refrain from using any and all versions of the Gloria using Luwalhati as its Tagalog text.
