I appreciate you doing the video on this, but why would someone choose this over the EG4 6000XP for $100 more with free shipping? I mean the cost of the breakers and the disconnect are worth more than that.
Love the videos! Online this inverter is advertised as a Hybrid invterer not an off grid invterer. Is that false or a slightly different model? It mentions it has leak shaving abilities which I really want to take advantage of. Does it have an input for CT clamps and or did it come with them?
This inverter really is designed for off grid applications. It does not have input for c t clamps. It is a nice machine.I've been using it daily for several months.
What do you mean 4k watts per string? Meaning pv 1+ and pv 1 - can only handle 4k watts? Or 8k watts? My question is i have 10 panels at 4500 watts @360v total when wired in series. Can i run it to pv 1 + and pv 1 -? Or do i have to shared it with pv 2 +/-?
You will only be able to push 4000w on PV 1 and 4000w on PV 2. The total you have will likely be throttled down to 4000w if connected to a single pv input.
Seth, can you now confirm the 6K does or does not accept Current Transformers (CT) or "current clamps" that would allow you to connect this grid tied without outputting anything to the grid? (Like the 12K has)
My unit did not come with CT clamps. I was expecting it to. I will have to check closer when I get back from vacation to see if the remaining ethernet ports accept ct.
I'm having an issue with my setup. It worked fine for about 30 minutes, but now I keep getting fault status 29 (AFCI protection). I've tried disconnecting the load and PV input, leaving only the battery connected. However, as soon as I turn on the EPS switch, it seems like a circuit breaker in the inverter trips, and I get fault 29 again. Is anyone else experiencing this, and does anyone have suggestions on how to fix it?
10% on big battery branded stuff only. They always pull that. Make the RU-vidr think that they can offer their viewers a discount only to find out, it doesn't apply to "that" product. How convenient. Seems shady. I'd get the EG4 and from Currentconnected, not SigSolar due to the support issues.
