Watching you for the first time. Fantastic video. Very informative and inciteful. Great job ❤ so you are natural and comfortable talking to the camera. 👏🏼
Such a great, insightful video... especially the JIC bags. If i cannot imagine using a bag right away, i know in my heart I should not get it. Two categories for me that I HAVE to avoid after many expensive lessons are (1) bags that are too small to hold my phone. i've learned the hard way that i just never use them and (2) Luxury backpacks: When i really want/need to wear a backpack, i don't want a bag that can easily be opened behind me without my knowledge so there is no use case for a luxury backpack in my life.
For me it's anything I can't crossbody. I have narrow shoulders and bags just slip off so if I have a shoulder bag I literally have to hold it up the entire time and that's so annoying! I only wear bags that are small, lightweight and crossbody. If I need something bigger then I just wear a backpack 😅
I audibly gasped when you showed your chanel woc and said it wasn't supposed to be 2 tone, and in fact turquoise!! I cannot believe how vastly different the patent changed color. I was expecting the original to be maybe some mid-tone green, but not something completely different on the color wheel! I'm curious if you took that back to chanel for a repair, what they might suggest?
I’m probably not gonna buy a big tote bag nor white bags anymore. I bought some tote bags and I never really use them enough to justify the money I’d spent on. For white purses, they are too high-maintenance and they look sad when they are old.😢
I collect bags so not all of them are actually used but even if I'm not going to use it I won't buy a bag which has the straps fixed too low on the sides of the bag. I had a Marc Jacobs one like that years ago and it used to drive me nuts with it tipping over all of the time 🙃 It's good to see your channel picking up a bit in terms of subscriber numbers, you really deserve it, you make great videos!
So agree with your thoughts. I have a patent wallet and became sticky after keeping it for a while. I prefer a camera bag as it is not too heavy and carry all my essentials including an umbrella. Love your illustration of the “Gucci” bag.
It makes me so happy that someone else carries a mini umbrella!! I got (jokingly) bag-shamed for being this prepared but I live in Miami! It rains here
I love the look of denim and wicker bags but I can’t bring myself to pay those prices for them when I can get a leather bag . The lady Dior in wicker is so gorgeous . The Chanel Deauville at $200??? Kat, you’ll have to get behind me in the queue !!!!😂😂😂😂
What I learned is that I don’t know if I truly enjoy a bag until I use it. But u mentioned really good points. I cannot use mini bags if I cannot fit my phone or wallet.
I love your handmade Gucci tote! I won’t buy fabric bags either because of Murphy’s Law, lol! I also won’t buy luxury designer straw raffia or wicker bags because I would not get as much use during cold weather in North America. Great video! ❤️
For the longest time I didn’t buy black bags. I just don’t consider black my go to color. I have two black Saint Laurents and I’m done. I also don’t think I’d buy a luxury wicker or basket bag. I’ve been considering the Loewe or Jaquemus baskets for soooo long now & it is time to come to terms with the fact that they’re just not for me. 😊 I don’t buy luxury bags specifically for going out & events. Like you said, it’s just not how I live my life. I steer clear from bags that are top handle only - I need the extra strap for my emotional comfort even if I will never ever use it.😅 Finally, I don’t buy bigger logo-ed bags for work, namely totes. I mean mainly monogrammed stuff, but also all the Fendis, CCs and Diors that spell the brand name across.
Extra strap for emotional comfort…exactly!!!! I have so many 2-way bags for which I have NEVER used the long strap, but it’s always tucked inside and I fell less stress about being out and about. You know how it goes - if you have it, you won’t need it, but if you DON’T have it, of course you will need it. Been there! Never again! 🙌
I agree with patent leather. The patent leather coating deteriorates over time and becomes sticky. My Dior wallet on chain is the same. Never again will I buy patent.
Very good points. I admit to liking the current colouring of the WOC but the stickiness would be impossible for me. If you get it re coloured, would that be effective for eliminating the stickiness? I would never buy patent. Especially not patent shoes. Thank you for the video.
superb line up of no-no bags! the bags that i no longer buy are beautiful colors that are just not my style. i prefer no color 🤣 black, white, grey/browns are the best for me even when they look boring. no feu, blue zanzibar, rose extreme, lime - they look pretty as a pop of color. but i pop best with no color 🙈🫶🏼
I bought a chanel mini vanity because I saw a lady wearing a chanel mini vanity+medium CF combo and surprise surprise, the mini vanity became one of my most used "bag" whenever my outfit has pockets to keep my phone 😂
Wonder...what would be the cost per wear we can justify for our luxury items? MYR100 per wear?😅 i always think it is nnot able to measure this way, as we buy it not for the CP value (most of it). Share you thought? 😊
yes it true it hard to learn thank you miss K we are like twins we same points I love chanel davill tote tote but going get coach Feild tote 40 or the have rease tote dump for chanel devill tote but it so overpowwing
Love the video ❤ I don’t buy patent because they always became sticky 😢 and funny shape bags, like Chanel heart 😂 But I love and use a lot fabric bags ☺️
I love mini bags so much, like I always drool, everytime I am looking at influencers carrying a mini Chanel Bags. However, as a mum of 5 yo, mini bags are kinda useless for me.. because I need to carry wet wipes, hand sanitiser, my keys, etc. and I always never use them in the end.. sad...
recoloring the woc or add crystals bling on it should give it new life patents are not on my list anymore after bad experiences & some shiny finishes on Chanel bags isn’t great too as it rubs off easily
Ohhh… I keep eyeing the mini Gucci as a pop-to-the-shops bag. I don’t want the twisty-turny thing though. Maybe I should just stick with my nylon Kipling one 😆 . There’s a couple of Fendi Baguette canvas bags with the multicolour FFs on them that I love but the sauce issue entered my head too. Are we just messy eaters? 🤤. I enjoy hearing what works - and doesn’t - for people. Thanks for sharing.
Sorry but you cannot colour-change a patent bag. The reason is there is a layer of PVC over the leather. The stickiness is the structure of the PVC breaking down from a combination of sustained heat, humidity and time. Agree denim bags are not good value, nor are the Chanel tweed bags, they are delicate and not robust. It's stressful thinking so much about material things. They are ruling us not the other way around. Simplifying is a good thing. IMO.
Have you seen the Pandora stopper clasps? Maybe it would be possible to use something like that on a bag with a strap like that Gucci tote? Not sure exactly how that would look or work. Just an out of the box brain fart.
I agree with all of your categories. For me I'll also add super trendy bags (I used to buy runway bags, like the Fendi B Bag that went out of style super fast), exotic bags (I used to be obsessed with snakeskin bags but they wear so poorly), and super small bags (Chanel WOC comes to mind).
I had the exact same chanel woc in the same colour and leather!!! 😅 i let it go few years ago in dirt cheap price otherwise im sure it will be discoloured like urs too! 😂
Thanks for sharing. Omg that sticky sound ROFL 😂🫢🤣 The anime collars are hard to resist though. I’ve managed to resist all the Loewe Ghibli collabs l, just had to keep reminding myself of how expensive it is. Doing the same for the Kasuma LV range as well lol. These items are so expensive and we shouldn’t compromise on any feature. I’ve finally figured out that I like medium crossbody bags in pebbled leather. Yeah there’s no point buying just in case bags, but when an occasion arises you can over compensate for the bag that would have been perfect for that occasion.
