Why not, Lobster meat is delicious. I can’t understand as a island nation why so many people are adverse too seafood? Do you know we export 75% of our seafood caught in British waters? Just crazy.
You can tell by the way he used the hammer and knife, the reason why he's just come out of jail for good behaviour early; after originally getting sent down with 10 life sentences 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Just appeared on my RU-vid. Absolutely hilarious Garry. Next time, give your lobster a good long wash under the cold water tap. I've got the proper utensils, but you can use nut crackers to open the claws, or as a last resort, your wife's rolling pin. Still a great video, i was laughing out loud.❤
Watching you trying to open up that lobster Gareth must be one of the best and funniest things I've seen this year on RU-vid. You are a comic genius mate..a comic genius.
Oh my days, you do make me and my good lady laugh. I have never seen a lobster so badly treated lol. As the saying goes "you need the right tools for the job". You need to spend at least £20 for a half decent lobster and get it delivered, prepared and from Cornwall, the best lobster in the world. Great vid buddy/
@anthonychantelle Hollister As Far As I Understand It They're Best Prepared Whilst Alive Or Killed Just Beforehand...,The Lobster In The Video Would've Been Prepared Using One Of The Aforementioned Methods...,Lobsters Decompose And Become Inedible Pretty Quickly Which Is Why They Are Prepared Using One Of The Aforementioned Methods
Well done mate, that was like watching myself attempt lobster for the first time and thanks to you has saved me the hassle. Just brilliant and honest in your style, never change 👍
Just totally love you Gareth. Gordon Ramsay would have a flipping field day watching your vids. Best entertainment on RU-vid ever👍😂Crying at the moment.
When I lived in Australia, lobster, prawns and scallops was our Christmas dinner. Absolutely loved them. Did a roast turkey the first year and nearly passed out with the heat - rookie error!
Yeh and you can’t meat a good size mud crab? When I go over to see my cousin in Australia he’s takes me mud crab foraging, non of that paying stupid prices in restaurants, then whack up a BBQ and cook on the heat. The claw meat from mud crab is beautiful although I get him too catch them, I’d probably end up loosing a few fingers😂
@@ceebee2994 mmm please your making me hungry. I remember my cousin telling me we’ll go mud crab hunting, we caught some, cooked on a bbq then camped where we caught them. Mud crab, fire and beer until the early hours we had a blast.
I've seen these frozen lobsters and never having tried it I was always curious. A massive thank you for putting my mind at rest and doing what I now know I will never do unless somehow I end up starving to death on a desert island and I actually catch one and miraculously manage to start a fire.
@@BaldFoodieGuy Nothing to do with that mate, it was when all of the liquid was squirting everywhere and then you cut it in half..... I was gagging on my ham and pickle sandwich. It looked like something out of Starship Troopers, I just couldn't ever see me eating that.
Had a few lobsters in my lifetime, messy things to open and prepare but tasty. I buy the lobster tails, split them, put grated cheese on top and grill, lubbly jubbly. Australian lobsters are Crays from Tasmania and Western Australia. No lobster in the RE Cookhouse Gareth ! You tried your best with the thing, you will have to buy some more and practise your surgical skills, lol. All the best.
Gerry here from Scotland please keep doing what you're doing mate, so informative and funny but showing us what the product is really like, this is a great idea I hope you go from strength to strength. And also I hope these companies are watching because you must be helping sell their products.
😂😂 had me howling this is so me trying to get the shell off I vaguely remember covering mine in an tea towel and hammering it fair to say I killed it more then the freezer 😂😂 xxx
yup, got one from aldi years ago, we named it lional aswel and everytime we looked in the fridge he was staring at us. we never ate him 🤣🤣🤣🤣 great video to watch Gareth. very entertaining 👌👍
Hi. I started watching your videos last night. I went onto RU-vid today, and this video was on the main screen. I wish you'd done this December last year,I was doing my Christmas shopping list,I always go to Iceland. I was going to buy one,but wasn't sure. I wish I had now. The only thing that put me off,was how to get into it. I prefer not to watch a professional, they make it look so easy,so if someone like yourself does it,you give honest practical advice. I've checked their website, they only sell them at Christmas. I was going to get some caviar too,but decided not to. I was going to ask you to review Iceland's caviar, but they only sell that at Christmas the same as the lobster. I will come back in December, and ask then. All I know about caviar,is that it's fish eggs. I know there's different quality of caviar, but what makes the quality different if it all comes from fish?
Laffed me nuts off :) Thankyou Thankyou for the superb entertainment. "Got lobster juice on me coffee machine" :))) "I've had crabsticks before" ....priceless...
Hi Gareth well done for doing that. It certainly didn't look a easy job. I wouldn't have touched it with a barge pole! I hope you're good lady enjoyed it.
Best laugh I've had 😂😂 in age's looked more trouble than its worth. You should try and get yourself Dublin bay prawns lovely with garlic butter 😋 great video as always.👍
These are now £8 and are very small compared with the ones sold by LIDL but LIDL lobsters are bigger but they cost £10 now. I defrost them quicker putting the frozen lobster in the sink that’s full of cold water.
Now I know the reason why my mum sent us kids outside with a newspaper “tablecloth”, crab claws and a hammer! Smash with hammer, pick out the flesh with a teaspoon, watching out for random bits of shell. We were never let loose on a lobster though…. Well done - you got there! So funny!
That was as always a joy to watch! Absolutely hilarious. I can't believe that a lobster would be so fishy. Think I'll stick to eating it at one of the pubs at the seaside! It looked really dangerous to prepare. Thanks Gareth for going where others dare not! 🤣
Ignore the comments that people are laughing you did well! Its a difficult thing to do and its great that Iceland Lidl and Aldi are bringing these at a price that people can have a go and see if they like them. I remember using a hammer to open some Brazil nuts and that was alot less sucessful than your lobster!
Honestly Gareth, love you and your videos but christ.. This lobster video was absolutely video gold... Loads of crab meat in these lobster claws.. Jesus me and the wife nearly wet ourselves.. You are a video genius.. Pleeaassee keep your videos coming..
Tbh Gareth I think u did well on that. I couldn't of got it open. I had lobster years ago in America. I didn't like the body the claw meat was good. I prefer crab I get them from the fish monger I live by the sea. Great video mate. Enjoyable as always.
I think you should of RU-vidd how to get the meat from a lobster 😂😂 I bought one of these last year from iceland didn’t get much from it at all but get what you pay for, was an experience 😂
@@Poppy-sf1uj trouble is when you order a king prawn curry they never put enough in. I buy my own fry them up in the pan for 3/4 mins then throw them with the curry😋
Haha Gareth not stopped laughing at you with the lobster so funny you are such a lovely foodie guy l definitely couldn't of opened that brings back happy memories my mum trying open up crab, ♥️😂😂🤣
Gareth I do love Iceland Lobsters Gone up in price this year, everythings going up. Gareth lucky you are not a Surgeon, the amount of tools you had. 👍🏻😁
Just watched this pal. You had me in stitches with it. You will end up on the telly the way you are going. Gordon, Gino, Fred and Gaz. Absolutely brilliant 🤣😂👏🏻👏🏻.
In Newfoundland we have utensils for lobster - a tool for opening the claws and a long pick took for pulling out the meat from the legs and claws as well.
Hi Gareth, I always wondered that the frozen lobster taste like as like you I've never had it and after watching this i won't try it, I found this incredibly funny. 🍻🙏
Gordon Ramsay does a good job of explaining how to prepare lobster. Doesn't cut it in half as recommended by the box instructions here. With the claws he makes one single blow with the knife then twists the knife to one side to break the shell apart.
Wow …. This should of been on “Game for a laugh” ……!!!!! Gareth, try some frozen “Lobster tails” After you defrost them you coat them in garlic butter and grill them… Easier to prepare, cook and eat with very little waste… Tasty 👅……… My first lobster was cooked live at a beach restaurant in Antigua, West Indies…. 30 odd years ago… Location made it memorable, but my Spanish girlfriend, now my wife, complained that the Caribbean Lobster 🦞 is less tasty than the Atlantic Lobster….! I now understand the difference …! When we lived in 🇬🇧 UK we used to have frozen seafood delivered to our home by a frozen food company..! That’s how I learned about Lobster 🦞 tails …, which were about 5 quid for a box of 4, 20 years ago !!! We don’t have an Iceland in Alicante, and Aldi does not stock “pigs in blankets “ (mantas en thurdos) As you can imagine Harry Ramsdens fish 🐠 and chips with mushy peas was less than appetizing for a fish munching Spanish person !!! Keep smiling 😊, your doing well..!!
This is great I’ve always wondered what a lobster would be like from Iceland or somewhere similar… I defo won’t be having one anytime soon after this video … juice everywhere 😂😂😂
Well now, that was entertaining to say the least. I love lobster if done correctly but too expensive in UK restaurants. May try the frozen uncooked tails. Keep it up mate and thanks for the video😉👍
I buy the tails, I pay about Australian $8 each for them here, split them, cheese on top, lubbly jubbly. Whole lobster is too hard to prepare, for me anyway.
Hahaha I'm crying at you with that lobster 🦞🤣😭My late Grandad was a fishmonger, he had them delivered live in the 60s uesd to boil them himself, then obviously he or my Nan would dress them, it's not as easy as it looks on the box, pleased you got to eat some and you seemed to like it too. Keep them coming Gareth, have a good weekend 👍
Sea food is my favourite type of food. Love lobster and Crab and prawns any type of fish is all good, should whack the shell with a rolling pin easy to get it out. Your some crack when it comes to the reviews. Nice review again Gareth
Lovely. A friend puts a couple of lobster pots out, in summer. I got a fresh one, from him. He also cooked it. Was a great treat. A touch of lemon, Gareth.
@@BaldFoodieGuy it was hilarious to watch though! I once ordered lobster 🦞 in a restaurant and ended up wearing most of the fishy juice all over my clothes!
that vid just smashed it for me im after nearly pissing my self laughing at that you deserve a reward for that vid pal it was just so funny attacking that lobster lol id say the good owl lady wud not be happy coming home to the bang off that lobster lol great job bro loved it lol
Didn't seem plenty of 'crab meat' in that lobster. Hahaha. Seen these in Iceland but I think I have decided to give it a miss after watching this. Lol.
I was in Canada a while back. Never had lobster before, but fresh it was beautiful. I was shown a different way of doing it. Cut off the head, then cut into the rest of the body. They had a little tool to scoop out the contents of the head. Nice vlog. Nice food. Stinky fingers 🤣
Oh Gareth this oldie came up on my list so I had to rewatch it! Hilarious!! I really don’t think it’s worth the effort, but it was fun watching you trying to get meat out of it lol
I know the best is live and then throw them in the freezer for a while and then boiling water but the only live thing I'd ever throw in boiling water is the EX! Purely out of self defense of course (cough) But yes I can have this on my keto diet! Woop woop 😁
@@BaldFoodieGuy It was more your reactions and commentary that had me laughing. When I left school, I went to college to learn how to be a chef. You did courses on sauces, fish etc... When it came to the crustaceans I was having none of it! They expected us to deal with them alive and I was ready to fail rather than handle them (some were huge!). I was horrified lol.
