Clotted cream. Had high tea at the Ritz in London. It’s an all afternoon event. You have your table all afternoon to enjoy your tower of goodies. We were stuffed and they brought a cream brûlée at the end.
We took my mother and her sisters there over 10 years ago. We loved it. Once we had the one at Waioli Tearoom and we were an afternoon tea kick for a while. We loved the one at the Moana Hotel. I'd like to stay there at least once. It's such a beautiful hotel. Thank you sharing your experience there and the new menu.
My sister is visiting right now and we did this high tea two weeks ago. It was so good!! I got the peach tea too and loved the shrimp sandwich. We got the table on the corner of the veranda facing the beach. So pretty!! But there was no breeze that day.
I love High or AfternoonTea. Hope you enjoyed it. The Halekulani and Kahala hotels also have a version of Tea as well. The one you got seems very substantial with salads and soups.... I've not seen that before
Lovely!!❤ Great history inthis building. Many may not know that our history was built on a monarchy! Everyone deserves a little royal treatment! Loved the view and the nice breeze you experienced as well! What a very elegant experience in Hawaii ne! ❤this! Mahalo!
My Mom’s favorite place!! In her later years we would take her every Saturday! Brings back so many beautiful memories!! Tears of happiness!! She loved her Mimosas lol!!
I bet you could have asked for some of the croutons to dip in your soup! It looks so tasty. This is a really good video and great showcasing the food and flavors of the meal. Y’all have just given me another thing to do on our visit next year (2024). Oh, and new subscriber here. Thanks again for sharing with us.
What a beautiful place 😍 it’s gorgeous and the view was so nice. The sandwiches, the buffet, and onion rings looked 😮soo good! I’d go straight for the desserts 🥰 those looked magnificent
Awesome videos! We will be there in Waikiki next week and plan to try some of the places you both suggested, I’m from SD and follow jaycation too. That was a great collab with you 3 🤙🏼
You guys were totally living the pinky life! I loved seeing you both living how the upper percentage live then threw in a burger. That’s the way to keep it legit! 🤙🏽🍔☕️🫖 Lots of love foodie Ohana. ❤
@@AmandaFelixEats It’s my pleasure you awesome couple! I love seeing your honest and fun loving videos. I hope we can meet in the future, but I know you are busy and probably pulled in so many directions. Everyone probably wants to do collab videos. Keep up the great work and eating onolicious food! I can’t wait to see the next episode. 🤙🏽❤️
Loved this video because the way the food looked and your reactions to everything. Who would have thought that such a traditional high tea with non-traditional choices like the burger and fries could be had in Hawaii. Maybe because it was in Hawaii that you could find such great opportunity for the luxury of the high tea combined with appealing alternate choices so that everyone could partake. Again, thanks for the intro to a new, 'must try' for my next visit.
I’ve always wanted to do High Tea! I’m so glad I got to experience it through you guys 😊 That natural lighting served you right today and that background too 👍 Loved the video!!
Ohh my Gosh! I wish I had known this a couple days ago....celibrated my wife's Birthday....I guess we'll just have to celebrate her birthday again...So awesome, Mahalo's you guyz!
So glad you did this video! We never did the tea, but would do breakfast there once during our stay! Love the building and everytime we are in hawaii do a walkthru and grab a rocker on the lanai! Can not wait to be back in Hawaii!!
I love their afternoon tea! The first time I went with my family, I chose a mango tea and our server recommended it iced and made it as a tea float paired with mango sorbet. Such a lovely experience 😊
Wow that High Tea set looks devine! It's so interesting to see a fusion of Hawaiin and British flavours 😯 I love high teas (especially the sweet selection) 😋and yes it's 'Clotted cream" that goes with the scones ^^ Funny enough, in the UK the 'High Tea' concept is well known and practiced, but it's usually a lot more basic. The fancy ones you get at hotels and restaurants are much more decadent and heavy then the standard 'tea time' selection 😊
@@AmandaFelixEats That's a great idea! You can compare the basic Tea set to the posh/luxary High Teas 😄 In SG we can get quite a variety of high teas that are a mix of local and birtish flavours as well, but I do miss the traditional ones in the UK 😆! The standard ones in England usually just consist of a pot of tea, 1 scone (sometimes 2) with clotted cream and jam (flavours vary), 4 finger sandwhiches (smoked salmon, egg mayo, cucumber, cheese&chutney) and a pastry.😋
Veranda’s afternoon tea is my absolute favorite! And I’ve tried afternoon teas all over including London and to be honest.. Veranda’s is still on my top list. It could be also the gorgeous view too! ☺️ We also love staying at Moana Surfrider each time we visit! 🥰
i haven't had afternoon tea in ages and this menu looks amazing! i've had high tea in london and many years ago when mariposa first served it, they were both lovely but gotta say london, of course, was an experience ❤ the savoury menu at the veranda is impressive! the finger sandwiches looked delish and quite different enough to update the classics. i'm not picky about crust on/off but they are more elegant off for tea. i also appreciate the burger option and i am definitely TEAM ONION RINGS (but they must be battered, not breadcrumbed) especially since most places don't offer them - they and that burger looked AMAZING! of course, what would tea be without sweets and those did not disappoint. your entire experience really inspires me to check it out! TRULY LOVED THIS VIDEO! thank you, amanda & felix! 😊
I would have been fine with just the beginning with the standard high tea because it all looked so ono. But you took me over the edge with the burger topped with pipikaula! The heck with the tea, give me that burger! Mahalo for another great vid!
Thank you for sharing! I’ve been to high tea at Kahala with my girlfriends and can’t wait to try here with my hubby. I won’t have to twist his arm with the burger and longboard option 😋
Their rep always brought me white chocolate covered macadamia nuts!!!! I do not like white chocolate but their pastry chef performed magic making them❤
Mmmm, that looks delicious! I've had a cream tea in Devon, England (home of the clotted cream and jam scones), and this one is calling me! I love the local twist on all the English elements. Can't wait to check it out and tell them I saw it on your channel. (Btw, those outtakes were the funniest yet! 🤣 ) P.S. Some of us women would enjoy that burger too! 👍
Gosh…that was a lot of yummy dee-lishusness!!! Love the personalized menu. I’m a ‘crust on’ kinda gir. But maybe not with tea sandwhiches 😊 The gift bag was beautiful! Great video guys!!!! Thanks for taking us along. Sending Hugz for Lucy 🤗🤗❤❤🥰🥰
I love this video. Was staying near this hotel when I was there earlier this year. Will be checking out this hotel when I go to Hawaii next time. Definitely will try the tea time.
Aloha Amanda & Feliz, so happy you showed this place! I went there w/my Mom back in 2019 and it was so nice, but to be honest, the menu has changed a bit (incl price) and I think I like the menu items that you both enjoyed better. I love onion rings and I am caffeine sensitive as well Amanda (as both you & Felix saw a few weeks ago, LOL!).
High tea at the Moana is definitely English inspired but not traditional. LOL. Last time in Hawaii for tea was at the Halekulani in the 80's. (Yes, dating myself). I now live in No VA. Did tea at the Hay Adams Hotel (across the WH) in the 90's. The last time I did afternoon tea? The Four Seasons Georgetown. Not sure if they offer afternoon tea today. Many hotels in the DC area stopped offering afternoon tea service. Felix -- take Amanda to the Halekulani for tea.
Loved this video, going back home to Oahu for a visit in January (live in California now) and def going to make my reservation for afternoon tea… what comes in the gift bag?
I enjoyed this video since it’s somewhere I’ve never tried as a local. Looking for something different to experience. I want to visit this place. Looks expensive though.
OMG I LOVE that u guys made this video! We are coming to Hawaii for our honeymoon in 2 weeks time and we r staying @ the Mohana ♥️♥️♥️ the food looks AMAZING- sooooo excited! OMG THOSE SCONES 😍😍😍 Just have to convince the man 😂 really helps seeing that they have the option with the burger!! Does the onion rings come with it? How early do we have to book in?? Felix ur so funny talking about if Starbucks or 7 eleven sold this food 😂😂 - does seem very $$$ tho! Love u guys and thanks for all ur wonderful informative videos!! ❤ What are ur can’t miss eats while we r there? We have been compiling a list 😂 I’m a history junkie too Amanda, hence y we choose to stay @ this STUNNING hotel ❤❤❤
We are excited for you! You guys will definitely have a great experience! Check out our top 10 list videos for places we recommend thus far! Enjoy your honey moon here! 🤙
Everything looked so ono! Being vegan, it's nice to know that I can eat there too! BTW, I am a french fry girl all the way but will eat good crispy onion ring anytime 😊
I looked at making a reservation here after watching. I was shocked to see that the price was $135.00 ! I understand that this is considered a Luxury experience but please can you tell me if this is a per person price?? That's alot of money 😭
Unfortunately it is 😣 we would recommend it for a special occasion and the gift at the end comes with the fan, tea container of your choice or box of fruit chews, or short bread.
We both ordered the royal set and they gave us the burger to try. If you only wanted the burger with the tea and desserts it'll be $71 for the person ordering it
