Oh gosh those memories of being so disrepected for being young/looking younger. I'm a lawyer and I still remember being made fun of (to my face!) by older bosses, lawyers on the other side, even judges. It really was the worst. Makes me grateful for the good people in my life because I couldn't have gotten through it without them! Lots of hugs to you Lou from a middle aged lady who remembers!
I have a mother of Pearl VCA necklace and have been wearing it for 8 years. I’ve constantly slept and showered in it and it’s still in super good condition. The MoP is really not that fragile.
Hi Lou! I had that same situation when I was 25. Actually I was pregnant and this Spanish older couple were commenting to ea other omg honey look at that teenager pregnant. I was smiling they didn’t know I was from Puerto Rico😅 when my husband came close he says let’s go in Spanish and they looked at me in shock. Now that I’m 56 people think my 6 yr old granddaughter is my daughter, it’s fun.! I love how you are very responsible and smart when purchasing items. You can let your relatives gift you those items to hang on your bag because it is not necessary. Love your videos. God bless you both.
oh my god hahaha I can relate SO MUCH to people speaking Spanish around me thinking I won't understand 😂 I'm definitely looking forward to looking like a teen mom (hopefully it lasts until my kids are teens) I agree we will be grateful for it eventually!
I understand how luxury items, i.e. bags and clothes are designed along classic and timeless lines. They do not really change...but it is also fun to give in to trendier, more fun and colorful designs. Less clasic perhaps but a lot more fun and not so boring or predictable.
I’ve been pretty obsessed with the Herbag for awhile, but now that you’ve reminded me about the difficult opening which I have also heard from other people, I think I’ll take it off my wish list as well. I hope you’ll keep the Panthere de Cartier on your radar though. It is a beauty. I have it in the two-tone and love it. I love Cartier watches in general and have 4 of them, including 1 that I’ve owned for 35 years. Have a great day, Lou! 💕
Hi Lou! I know exactly how you feel when it comes to people thinking you’re too young to carry designer handbag and accessories... I’m 27 and i think because I’m very petit people naturally assume my mums gonna buy me the bag or shoes or whatever it is... it’s pretty frustrating and people can be pretty rude to me too.. so you aren’t on your own I know how it feels too ❤
Wear your designer bags with proud! People have NO business in how you got them or your finance situation. I'm 44 and still people from my generation are still questioning how I buy my designer bags and accessories .... It will never stop, that's just how people are these days.
I understand exactly, when I mention something good ,this friend never says oh good or thats nice ,only how much was that, always abt the money I quit sharing because at my age 63,it just gets old her constantly asking rude questions. A couple years ago she paid 2500 dollars for a puppy, and I have animals too,but I had just got the small 19 flap in pink and she asked how much did you spend on that? I just laughed and said more than your dog.Just have to lighten up when people ask rude questions, jealousy must be an awful thing.I feel blessed to have beautiful things, and family and a home.
Someone I know bought that Hermes canvas bag, preloved, excellent condition. She loves it…on the shelf! 😂 She said it is the most difficult of all her handbags to deal with. 😢 I hear ya on bag charms, they’re very cute but not for me either. 😊
I think bag charms are adorable and believe me it's a compliment to be considered younger. I'll be 54 on July 9th but I still get it sometimes and it's a compliment when I was younger it was a little weird to always be id'd for everything but as you get older you learn to appreciate it and also it's usually jealous girls who say things like that. Let them be jealous! Toss your hair and own it .❤
I understand what you mean about being worried of using the tweed. I purchased the exact one in medium from the store when it came out in 2020 and still haven’t used it. Love it so much. On the one hand I want to let it go but then I think I will regret it. Only item on my wish list at the moment is the Picotin 18 but as I want it for casual I feel the open top is putting me off with pic pockets. great to know your views on it ❤
Don’t have the kelly wallet, but I have a wallet of similar size that also has a turn lock that sticks out and it is very annoying indeed! I love it, but rarely use it because like you said, it takes up way too much space and I worry about the protruding part pressing into my bags.
I use the Celine 16 Large handbag for work and carries my laptop (on the bigger size) perfectly plus my agenda, cables and accessories and my makeup bag. Good luck finding a laptop bag!
Same here, I don’t really get the rodeos, it looks cute on instagram but not sure about it in real life. I am tempted by the twillies but also like the bags on its own, just clean and simple.
Love to hear how you think about things that maybe I won’t thanks for the retro. Don’t buy more pegausus, you are right, si expensive… better buy other things.
Hi Lou! Can I have your opinion please. I have been offered a Picotin 18 in lime what do you think of this colour? It’s bright yellow very pretty but I’m not sure about it as this will be my first Picotin should I go for more neutral colour like Etoupe?
I would sell the 19 oreo bag and get the clasic flap in black and white, is so nice. And the watch inpersonally only buy new but that it is just me i dont like used thing un less is something from my family. I would get the watch new also because you get an amazing in store experience and its a forever piece
I’m not a huge fan of rodeos BUT the So Black (I have a few one with exotic saddle) on my black Kellys or B30 I think looks fabulous. Great video. Love to you Lou.
Your reason for not wanting that Kelly wallet was the same as mine. Very pretty, but if I want to put it in a pocket... the lock would keep poking out, or denting other things in my bag.
Why don't you waterproof your couch? Many companies offer this service and doesn't alter the look or color of it at all. It's necessary to re-do it from time to time but lasts very well and works!
I made the mistake of buying twillies and bag charms that I don’t use. I love my bags without anything most of the time. It’s a more mature and simple look that suits me better. I have the Panthère watch that I adore, mine is rose gold and stainless steel so way less pricey than all gold. Actually I removed a all gold watch from my wishlist. It’s too pricey and cannot justify it since I have my panthère watch already. The Her bag, the one like you showed, I really like but I’m not sure about the opening, I’m not even sure if I really want a Kelly because of the opening. I feel like I’m really a Birkin girl and adore mine. It’s always good to reevaluate, our needs and tastes are changing.
I'm on the same page as you with the watch ALSO the couch--that has been on my list forever and I'm no longer into it. I do not like twillies or bag charms. I agree they look very childish.
To be honest I also prefer my bags as they are, even tho I love how twillies look on someone else’s bags. I get why you think it ruins the outfit because you’re simply a casual dresser (me too). But please for the love of God, do not hesitate to buy and use something you genuinely like because you think you’d get mean comments. You can wear whatever you like ❤
My 2 yr old niece wears a VCA necklace, MOp and it’s Still in very good condition. She wears it to shower etc. Makes me realize it’s not as fragile as people make it out to be.
Lou, what you say about charms/rodeo and twillies is so right that I cannot believe many women do not see it - they are not necessary! I would go even further - they are not classy but … childish (as you mention). So up to 25 yo I would say “OK”. Anyway, it’s just my opinion. On opinion of a woman who still did not get a chance to get Birkin or Kelly but once I put my hands on them I will not hung anything on them. As they are perfect in their simplicity
I don’t like the charms , scarves on bags aesthetic the only thing I like is the chain charms without the horses lol I feel it makes the bags look childish and way too girly for me lol
You should never buy that Cartier Panthere in gold - it should be stainless steel or the two tone - but the gold version looks tacky in person. It's a Cartier Panthere it's a classic item - the gold version is v dodgy. The CP is prob the only item on this list worth having, but - you should always go vintage - the new ones are nothing like the quality of pre🇬🇧💜 2000 items🙏💜
Lou, I’m sorry - I went to like your vlog but my fat finger pressed the thumbs down by accident ! I erased it and hit the thumbs up but wanted to apologize anyways!
I absolutely love them, I have considered getting one for my keys even if it’s fussy and big for them but they are so beautiful, it’s just for me the specific look on the bag and how it makes me feel while carrying the bag, however every time I see them on someone else’s bag it’s so CUTE specially when they do great color combination, I think it’s just a matter of personal style, I also feel silly with red lipstick or loud accessories so it’s just my own issues 😂
