Loved to know your thoughts about those products. I had the Chanel a few years ago and you confirmed my opinion. If possible, make a new video about the tinted balms. Thank you!
I am addicted to the cle de peau lip glorifier, pink and red are my favorite! especially the red! you should definately try it! Even when I have been wearing a matte lipstick all day and my lips are feeling dry I swipe the balm on and my lips are immediately rehydrated, it is quite expensive but I swear by it!
Thanks for that extensive roundup Lexi! You are a in a great position to judge lip balms - you put your lips through a lot of wear and tear by constantly testing new lipsticks. For years, my favorite lip balm was Elizabeth Arden’s 8-hour stick balm - but it’s impossible to get here now. Currently, I am really enjoying Pat Mcgrath’s untinted lip balm - it’s very comfortable and moisturizing, without taste or fragrance. Cheers!
I loved the Elizabeth Arden too! When I was a kid we weren't allowed to wear makeup at school but I alway wanted to so my mom would get me the Elizabeth Arden balm as my "lipstick" and I felt so fancy! The brand in general is so hard to find now. It's a shame.
This was so helpful Lexi! I purchased your top favorite and will click down the list - I’d also love to see a video with your tinted lip balm favorites. I have super dry lips; winter exasperates it ten fold. Thanks ! 😎
This was really helpful, Lexi! I was also excited about the Ubeauty but over time I felt like it was more of a serum than a lip balm so I started using it under something heavier. I was a huge fan of the Bite Beauty bc lanolin (if you’re not opposed to it) is just the best for long term healing in the winter. Bummer, I’m down to my last tube. I also bought the stupidly expensive La Mer and wow, what a waste of money. I should have looked at the inci list before I bought it. I get cracks in the corners in the winter sometimes and this is the best healing strategy I have found: use a moisturizing lip balm first and work it in well avoiding the corners too much, then put on Mupirocin (an antibiotic cream you can ask your doctor for) in the corners and make sure to work it in and use a thick layer, and then put on aquaphor. This really helps to heal and the aquaphor locks in the moisture. Hope this helps someone who is looking for answers! ✨
Good morning Lexi. So many great ideas, thank you. My fav one is from Guerlain (the one with the white packaging) but I'm always open to try new products. A videos with tinted lip balms, will be appreciated. Stay safe. Ida
Wow - super helpful video Lexi! My lips are always so dry - I have a lot of balms, oils, and lip masks! Right now I’m using the Tatcha Kissu Lip Mask overnight - it’s a bit thick and sticky (great light peachy scent), but it lasts all night and I find it more hydrating than the LaNeige Lip Mask. I may try the Revision one!! Thx!! ❤ And YES to a tinted lip balm ranking!
Hi! Thanks for the thorough video! My favouite non-colour lip balm right now is the ByTerry stick balm. I would really enjoy a video of coloured balms as that is what I wear everyday. 😊
Thank you for such an in depth review! I am forwarding this video to my sister who is looking for a lip balm. My current fave has been the Dries Van Noten Lip Balm (clear bullet), with Chanetecaille rose balm as the next fave. I will order from your link the Sisley balm because I LOVE their tinted balms.
Great review! My favorite lip balm so far is one by dr. Barbara Sturm. I’ve tried almost every lip balm on the market including Sisley, Chanel, Aesop, A. Bader, Elizabeth Arden, La mer, Kiehls etc.
Thank you for another comprehensive review. I have very sensitive lips which can become very swollen with different lip products which require a prescription cream to reduce. So I am very carful and have been successful with Cle de Peau lip balm and lip shine colors. I have tubes in my purse and on my desk at all times.
You have such a beautiful smile 😍 thank you so much for this GREAT video, you've put so much time (and money) into it! New subie here ❤ have a lovely day!
Thanks for doing this, I bookmarked your #1 pick. I’ve tried most on your list. Nothing matched the old formula of Kiehl’s #1, but the new formula has less shea butter and it sits like petroleum jelly. I’m on the hunt ever since. Leinege is not enough for the cold here. I’ve resorted to Chanel’s Moisturizing lip gloss lately.
Thanks for the review Lexi! I would be very much interested in the tinted lipbalm review. I love the Guerlain Super Lips, Suqqu has also a great one which I use in the morning before applying lipstick. Lip products will last much longer and remain protected. Not sure if the following belongs to this categories, but Sensai has a lip treatment which is by far the best for the night. Thanks again for the detailed review
I'm looking forward to your opinion on this! I've honestly been on a long time quest for my favorite lip balm with not much luck yet. I've tried the Rouge Coco, I've tried Augustinus Bader's lip balm. They were good but not instant in love products. For the past year I've been using the Revision Skincare lip replenisher, of you're looking for a heavy duty moisture product...you might love it! However..I am not noticing my actual lip moisture improving over time so I've now ordered the Skinceuticals lip treatment that should be here later this week. If I'm not impressed by that... I'll have more hunting to do lol
I actually have noticed improvement from the revision but it is very heavy so I don't like using it all year. I would love to know how you like the Skinceuticals - please let me know!
Thank you so much for this review. I am really interested in any reviews you make! I wish I could find all these products in Greece but the market here is so limited unfortunately. Can't wait for another review though xx
Hello, I will always want both the by Terry lip balms, stick or tub and the Chantecaille. Both are moisturizing and leave my lips in better condition. The Chantecaille has a lovely subtle shimmer. I put Tom Ford lipgloss in Chrystalline in this category as well, moisturizing and the lines just disappear. Top 5, Tatcha lip mask is good and Alpine Beauty. Thanks Lexi!
Such a great and helpful video! I love lip balms but always struggle to find one that is really moisturizing a doesn't irritate my lips. I recently got the Augustinus Bader and like you, I feel like I used it up so quickly and I also had to reapply it constantly so it was a bit of a disappointment. So far, I think the WA liquid lip balms have worked the best for me but I'm still looking for the perfect lip balm! Thank you for sharing, hope you're well!
Hi Lexi, you are the queen of lip products, lol! That said, you definitely know your balms and what you like. I keep trying to imagine how you organize all these test products (I'd need an excel chart, haha). I'm waiting to hear your thoughts on the new rms lip tints if that counts as a coloured balm bc you've been hinting you really like them! Thank you for another highly informative video!!
Such a great review video Lexi!! Thank you!!! I’ve been using pure Shea butter on my lips to keep them hydrated because they have been so chapped. Really want to try the Ubeauty and so many others that you recommend ❤
Thank you for this comprehensive post. For me the packaging is a deal breaker even if the formulation is good. I hate anything that comes in pots (unhygienic) and squeeze tube (hard to get the last drops). The Laneige I found overrated, it dried out my lips overnight. The go to for me during the day is the Augustinus Bader, I'm on my 4th tube. Love the handy packaging and has the right slip. For night, the only thing that worked for me is the Lanolips 101 ointment ($16) from Amazon.
The only one that we had the same is Laneige. I thought we talked about By Terry. At first the rose scent bothered me, but it worked. I hv the Dior, Hermes, Decorte, and PM. Carmex is a very old stand by, but this year my lips seemed drier and my new favorite is Nannette de Gaspe' that I picked up from Saks.
I have used the By Terry in the past too and I feel teh same way as you. I have the Hermes tinted balms and the PM but I haven't tried the Decorte. I haven't heard of Nannette de Gaspe' but that is going on my list. Thanks for sharing Susie!
Thanks Lexi !! Love a good lip balm Laneige is my favourite always open to try a new balm . A tinted version would be great 👍. I know you have listed the CDP Matt lip that you have on in the intro but it looks glossy, do you have something over the top ? Thanks 🙏🏾 🤗💕
Hi Catherine! I haven't tried the La Mer but I have used the By Terry in the pot and their liquid balm. The liquid is very lightweight and great for putting something on before lipstick. The pot is a really great moisturizing formula. I think it works really well but like other by terry items, there is a strong rose fragrance. I would recommend it if the fragrance doesn't bother you. I would put it above the Sisley for performance.
@@LexiJong Thanks! I have repurchased the La Mer multiple times and wanted to try something new. Heard great things about the By Terry, however, the fragrance may be a deal breaker.
Dear Lexi, have you ever tried the UV Protective Lip Treatment from Cle de Peau? I'm on the hunt for a nice lip SPF, so if you have any thoughts on this one or other suggestions to share, it would be greatly appreciated.
Hey Lexi, I have been using by terry lip balm de rose for ages. Since I am living outside IS it is difficult to get so I was thinking of picking the Sisley one. Have you tried the by terry one? If yes how does it compare to Sisley one? I have also tried the laneige one but didn’t like it.
I have used the By Terry and I think it is more moisturizing than the Sisley. Texturally, the By Terry is creamy while the Sisley is more of a gel-balm. Performance wise, the By Terry seems to act more like a lotion in that you have instant hydration but the Sisley seems to lock it in more and create a barrier to prevent moisture from leaving. Between the two I still prefer the Sisley because of the texture but the By Terry probably works slightly better.
Alpine has replaced the Laneige as my favorite. I love lip masks and balms without mint, because mint irritates my lips, so I don’t think I can try your favorite.
It was reformulated 2 years ago iirc and the newest one is still good although a bit thinner imo. Still my favorite overall though and I've repurchased it twice since the reformulation now.
