awesome tour i have a 2008 monaco monarch and its beautiful i thought it was cool that you did a full tour all in good quality it helped a lot thanks a lot 🙂😊👍
😊. HELLO. MERRY CHRISTMAS REALLY I DO NOT COMMENT TO OFTEN ON RU-vid VIDEOS YET WHEN I WAS LITTLE, OUR PARENTS TOOK US ON VACATIONS EACH SUMMER MOTORHOMES. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST VIDEOS I THINK BECAUSE YOU AND YOUR WIFE ACTUALLY TAKE THE TIME TO EXPLAIN THINGS, YOU CAN SEE THAT YOU GUYS REALLY CARE AND MAINTAIN AND MAKE IMPROVEMENTS ON YOUR MOTORHOME THAT IS SO IMPORTANT I CAN’T STRESS IT ENOUGH IF A PERSON IS GOING TO HAVE A MOTORHOME LIVE OFF GRID WHATEVER THEY NEED TO BE ABLE TO FIX IT AND MAINTAIN IT AND SO MANY PEOPLE DON’T OR THEY DON’T KNOW IT’S VERY EXPENSIVE SO WE GIVE YOU KUDOS FOR THATwe would like to see your winterization and do you travel in the snow that would be interesting thanks bye God bless
How many people thought he was flexing when he said he “completely rebuilt this myself”? 4:44 😂 I bet he removed and replaced one of two heating elements or sum shit 😂 But I have to give credit where it’s due; this man definitely knows his RV. He is well articulated and well versed in his info/research of his RV. His passion shines. 👍 I can safely say an amateur auto mechanic, I love, but know absolutely zilch, about owning and maintains an RV.
We just found you guys with this video and it’s been informative. We will be binge watching your other videos. Funny thing, at the end of the month we’re flying from Arizona, to Palm Beach Florida to pick up a 2007 Monaco Noble III and driving back to AZ. Kind of reverse of your experience. We hope to find and watch your trip in the opposite direction. Keep up the good work.
OMG! You just added a lot of changes to my list after seeing that couch setup. We have a 2010 43’ Phaeton, but it’s very similar to this Monaco except the bedroom is opposite and bath is a little different, but I like yours better with the single sink! I was buying an almost identical 2009 Monaco to this and the Seller backed out after I opened my mouth about all the people having DEF problems! Haha Very Nicely Done!
I’m starting out (now) just like y’all, with a few exceptions. First, I’m 71, just retired (back in October 22). I bought a 2002 small 24’ class A, I pull a 20’ enclosed trailer that has my (toy) 1963 Chevy Nova that I can use as a daily driver, but I’m getting ready to buy an e-bike for going around the area I’ll be staying at the time. My plan is to go around America for a year, then either keep going or find a park in Florida to stay in
You did it right in the size, unlike some people that think that a monster size is cool. we have had RVs our whole lives and were now looking for a 24' class C/B+ so we can drive it everywhere and not have parking problems. wishing you lots of good times and good health.
Congratulations on your beautiful dynasty. I have a 2000 dynasty that I have been living in for going on six years and still love it. Thanks for the video.
My friend. You really do a much better job of reviewing and providing very clear understanding of the components of Large RV's, then some of the other folks. Hope Prevost, Emerald, Superior or Marathon have you review the new and used coaches. Also you would probably make a good consultant on the purchasing of coaches for clients. WELL DONE1
Nice! First motorhome, you pretty much went to the top of the motorhome world (other than Prevost, Newell) . Wish we saw those updates/repairs you have done. Could definitely learn from you and apply on my Monaco Windsor.
Hi guys - WOW, we love your motorhome. It’s amazing what all you have upgraded in the last year. Tom can come and geek out on our motorhome anytime. I wish we had a little geek in us 🤣😂. It sure helps to have different Rvs to help make decisions on what you want when you buy. Thanks for sharing your home with us! Hope to see you on the road again someday ~Janice~ 😊❤️🇺🇸 👏👏👏
Also note on the Tag Axle, if it is lifted and you start driving it will drop back down when the transmission hit 2nd gear. I was able to test drive one of the 45ft Monaco Signatures with the Cummings ISX (605 HP), great performance for a heavy coach and the stability on the road is fantastic.
Thanks so much for the tour, beautiful coach! I’m pretty hands on with our 2000 Country Coach but all that cool stuff on your coach would scare the ….. out of me. Way too many things to go wrong. Again beautiful rig! Safe travels 😊
Hi, new subscriber here. That’s an absolutely beautiful Dynasty and very well equipped, similar to an Executive or even the flagship Signature Series. Somebody really ordered it with a ton of upgrades which is super nice. I like everything about it. You mentioned the need for 3 starting batteries. We own an ‘07 Monaco Holiday Rambler Navigator 45’ and it has a Cummins 525HP. The 2 starting batteries really seemed to struggle to start it. I had a new Denso starter installed as my research really recommended this starter to help with the “slow start” issue pertaining to these higher horsepower diesels. It made a vast improvement, however I am having a 3rd starting battery installed as well. Each battery is 950 cranking amps so it will be close to 3K. I believe that between the Denso starter and the addition of the 3 rd battery, there will no longer be any slow starting issues whatsoever. You might want to google and research some of the forums about the Denso starter to become better informed about this solution. Love your channel and good luck with your travels!👍
Glad to have found you all again. I was following you pretty steady during the Alaska trip, but somehow I fell off your sub list. Happy to see you are still adventuring.
Awesome rig you got there ! About wifi I always had signal and appearance issues in my fifth wheel. what i did is go with a Unifi AP centrally located (i fished the rj45 thru the ac duck) and it just blend so well with the ceiling light fixtures , speaker and AC vents. Since it's in a central location the signal in the bedroom is top notch and if you need to upgrade in the futur, it's real easy since it's poe powered.
Hello, I am a fellow Monaco dynasty owner and I recently watched your video of the tour of the outside and inside of yours You’ve done some great upgrades and was noticing your window coverings and I was wondering if you knew the make and model of what you have
Great video. New subscriber. I have a 2007 Monaco built coach (Scepter 40PDQ) with a similar lighting system, and would love to see more about how you did the home automation. I recently sold my house and now full time and miss my home assistant. Any chance you have a more detailed video on how you modified to lights and tied it to your home assiatant?
Love the video we are looking to full-time RV in our first coach looking to get a 2006 or newer country coach and upgrade the inside so we can run our business from there and live in it full-time.
Thanks for the tour. Awesome looking rig, so roomy looking with the slides out. Happy for you guys. Question: What do you do with the computer monitors while traveling? Do you just unplug and lay them down on the sofa? On the desk? On the floor?
Hey Tom, not sure if you noticed it but when you had the back of the fridge access door open the plastic bag that you moved (20:20) is now blocking the cooling fan on the back of the fridge.
The thing I love most about these huge motor homes is their gas efficiency. They consume almost no gas, so they're extremely easy on the environment. Towing a car also lessens the load, so even less gas is consumed. These nearly zero-emission monsters would never burn large amounts of fossil fuels which add to climate change. That's the cool thing about these land yachts.
Beautiful new coach! After watching Less Junk More Journey in Baja, you may want to take the truck camper to Mexico. Looks like the roads are horrible - at least in Baja they are. Good luck on your adventures.
We also have a 2008 Monaco, but it's a 40' Diplomat diesel pusher. We've loved it so much, it's been a great coach! The dishwasher was a nice addition - which we'd like to add eventually, as you have! Looks great, congratulations you two!
Congratulation on the nice coach. I also choose a 2007 Holiday Rambler for some of the same reasons. I love a lot of the stuff you have done to your coach and I hate to make negative comments but do you have your fresh water faucet connected to your black and gray flush inlet? If so this seems like a contamination risk. Please take this as a constructive question and health safety concern.
Must take FOREVER to pack up and secure all that stuff before traveling. Literally like packing up a small apartment! Yikes! Great if you are a snowbird taking two trips a year, one in the Winter and another in the Summer, but can't imagine actually traveling with a house on wheels. Glad it works for you and that is all that really counts! I'll take that Lance camper you had up in AK ;-)
27:30 I hope that your are friends with “Gone With the Wynns” because Tom wants a dishwasher so bad, but his wife doesn’t because she cooks and he washes the dishes.
Is this setup so that you can winter in UP Michigan. Do you solar charge your batteries? It would be extremely entertaining to have Caitlin teach Peter and John how to drive a full size motor home! That would be worthy of a TV show! Hmmmm!! My predictor was way off. I had predicted that you would buy a HDT and the fanciest fifth wheel toy hauler out there making even the Prevost owners jealous!! Perhaps you will still do that someday. THANKS FOR THE TOUR, both external and internal!!! I hope we will get to see videos of both this RV and your expedition vehicle!!! ENJOY THEM BOTH!!!
Congratulations on your new beautiful home on wheels! I’m hoping this will be one of many videos of you guys! I’ve sure missed all your adventures like you guys used to put out. Happy travels and stay safe..🙏🏻♥️
Thanks for sharing. We have a 2009 dynasty. Can you please share the airbags you have. We need to replace ours and I can’t find the parts. Beautiful coach. Hope to see you on the road! Safe travels.
Replacing the beloved Norcold reefer in a Tiffin, I too had to remove the driver side window. Very easy actually. Plus I was wondering what happened to you guys. Last vid I saw was when you started building out a truck camper. Then again I was on a long rv trip myself with my TT to Florida from Kommifornia
So no more overlanding adventures? ☹️. It's beautiful but I will miss your off road stuff. I have been watching for a long time. I liked the 5th Wheel you had too. Incinerator toilet would have worked well in the master bath as well.
25:38 Your slide in your living area is carpeted, including in front of your refrigerator, underneath your dinette and underneath your desk. Is that a feature that you enjoy? We would get that carpet so dirty from our experience in our home. With just the two of you it’s probably really comfortable on your bare feet? Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful home!
Did you record content on your build out? Definitely been missing the updates via RU-vid. I might have to go check out your newsletters as I didn't know they existed. With the new rig, how long can you drive or be offgrid using the residential fridge? Can you use the boiler while underway? One benefit of a boiler system is that you can use it for under tile heating. Did you go that route? Did you have to upgrade the slide motors to handle all the extra weight? Sorry so many questions. It you kind of hit me with information overload!
Slides are all dual hydraulic pistons synced since they are so heavy. We can run about 4 days off-grid before needing to run the gen. Yes the boiler can run underway, however it can be backed by engine heat so it can be heated by engine coolant. We can run heat in the coach and have hot water off the engine. The hot lines do run under the floor and help warm it, but it's not true in floor heat. Would be a great feature however!!
Beautiful motorhome!! we just picked up an 08 dynasty this month and getting all the things fixed up.. how did you mount that aquahot controller? ours is not staying snapped into the little rivet things on the housing..
I'm a little concerned about permanently attaching your potable water system to the flush system. Doesn't that give bacteria a way to enter the potable water system? I know on my house I had to have an air gap for a flush on a rust removal system that entered into my septic tank. Inquiring minds want to know. Nice coach, it's a little to geeky for me but that's Tom. I have a Nexus Ghost Super C that has some of the neat stuff you have but not anywhere near all of them. Good luck guys and keep the good stuff coming.
This was so nice. I bet they feel so free. This makes me wanna buy 1 of these & run off w/ my kids. Lol! I wonder how they receive mail tho. I’m guessing maybe a P.O. Box n 1 place that they visit here & there.
You didn't follow-up on why you disconnected the alternator from the battery charging on your coach. I'm curious b/c we're considering upgrading our RV batteries to LiFePO4 too, and suspect it's due to the draw the new batteries can put on your coach. Did you install a Li-BIM, or at least consider it, or maybe something like a Victron or REDARC DC-DC charging system? Thanks for all the great content you put out!
I had an '05 Monaco but sold it a while back. I installed solar on it and ran into an issue while driving. I got an overvoltage alarm. It was not a problem per se but I did have to research it. Did you run into the same issue?
Thank you for a very informative tour and explanations for us layman. No better bang for the buck than these pre-def Oregon built motorhomes by Monaco, Country Coach, Safari, etc. We love our 08 CC Intrigue!
Full time RV friends of ours had a 2009 Monaco Signature. Six months ago a nearby lightning strike (Florida) fried the chassis electronics, leaving the house electronics usable. Turns out the electronics were a prototype and no longer repairable. Coach would start and move forward in first gear, but nothing else worked. After months of repair attempts and negotiations with the insurance company, they finally totaled the coach. Hope you don’t have a similar situation.
