I visited the western city of Lviv, where I stayed in a Soviet-era hotel, attended a ballet at the Lviv Opera House, and explored the historic Lychakiv Cemetery.

@@MagorzataKocjanLviv was founded by the king of Rus Danylo in the middle of the 13th century, later expanded by his son Lev. Later, part of Rus, the ancient state of modern Ukrainians, then Ruthenians, after the weakening of the long-term war with the Horde, became part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Rus and Zhimantii, and later became part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. Thank you for watching! I wouldn't recommend visiting Kharkiv or Odessa. I spent the last few weeks in Kharkiv, and it's not safe, especially the city center. You wouldn't be able to enjoy it at all. Kyiv is a better choice, and Lviv is the safest place among these four cities. You can have a stop in Lviv and then travel further East to visit Kyiv. There are plenty of trains from Lviv to Kyiv. I hope you have a nice journey!

The brave people of Ukraine do not deserve the naked aggression of the Russians. The cemetery of honor for the fallen defenders must be a difficult place to visit knowing that the cost of freedom comes at such a high price. As an American, I can assure you that in spite of the nonsense the MAGA crowd spouts the heart of America is with the Ukrainian people. Thanks for sharing the video.
@TetianaSim
@TetianaSim 2 месяца назад
You are welcome! Yes, the cemetery is a tough place to visit; you can barely hold back tears understanding that these men might die in cold trenches, full of fear, overcoming self-preservation instinct. It is scary, and this is the reason I am against the majority opinion that this war has to be continued until the borders of Ukraine in 1991 are restored. It is already impossible. The Ukrainian government lives in a dream while regular folks die. The war should be stopped as soon as possible through negotiations. It is the politicians' job to find compromise and live in peace with neighboring countries, including Russia.

@TetianaSim
@TetianaSim 3 месяца назад
@rjakob8073 In '39, haha. '38 was my slip. 1. Kingdom of Galicia-Volhynia (1199-1349): - Lviv was founded by King Daniel of Galicia in 1256. 2. Polish Rule (1349-1772): - Lviv became part of the Kingdom of Poland in 1349, under King Casimir III the Great. 3. Austro-Hungarian Empire (1772-1918): - During the First Partition of Poland in 1772, Lviv came under the control of the Habsburg Empire and was known as Lemberg. 4. West Ukrainian People's Republic and Polish-Ukrainian War (1918-1919): - After World War I and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Lviv briefly became part of the West Ukrainian People's Republic. 5. Second Polish Republic (1919-1939): - Following the Polish-Ukrainian War, Lviv was integrated into the Second Polish Republic. 6. Soviet Rule (USSR) (1939-1941, 1944-1991): - Lviv was annexed by the Soviet Union in 1939 following the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and became part of the Ukrainian SSR within the USSR. It was occupied by Nazi Germany from 1941 to 1944 during World War II, after which it reverted to Soviet control. 7. Nazi German Occupation (1941-1944): - Lviv was under Nazi German occupation during World War II. 8. Ukrainian SSR (USSR) (1944-1991): - After World War II, Lviv was part of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic within the Soviet Union until the dissolution of the USSR in 1991. 9. Independent Ukraine (1991-present): - Following the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, Lviv became part of independent Ukraine.

@Steveh-wk1xd Privit! Thanks for your recommendations. Yes, I am very new to making vlogs, so it's great to hear feedback from people who have watched some of my videos. There were a couple of reasons why I decided to visit my family in Kharkiv: Poland is updating a law regarding the legal stay of Ukrainians, and I might not be able to leave Poland soon. With the situation worsening in Kharkiv, I wanted to see my family while the trains are still running and the city is not too bad to visit. Who knows what will happen in a couple of months. We do have street markets in Kharkiv. I spent three weeks there and just returned to Poland yesterday. So in Western Ukraine everyone speaks Ukrainian? I’ve noticed that other RU-vidrs from Kharkiv & Odessa speak only Russian. Ukrainian & Russian are not similar.
@TetianaSim
@TetianaSim 3 месяца назад
@gregblake2635 yes, that's true! Ukraine is a linguistically divided country. Kharkiv, Odessa, Dnipro, Donbas, and Crimea are Russian-speaking regions. In the capital of Ukraine, people speak both Russian and Ukrainian. But in Western Ukraine, only Ukrainian is spoken. Historically, Kharkiv and Odessa were heavily influenced by the Russian Empire and later the Soviet Union. During the Soviet era, Russian was promoted as the lingua franca across the USSR, including in Ukraine. Industrial and urban centers like Kharkiv and Odessa attracted a large number of Russian-speaking workers and administrators, which reinforced the use of Russian. Lviv, on the other hand, has a long history as part of the Austrian Empire and Poland, while Kharkiv and Odessa were under the Russian Empire at that time

It is not very safe, as it has been bombed, residential areas have been bombed, so, I would not recommend it. You are playing Russian roulette when you go there. Instead, head for these three cities: 1. Chernivtsi ( enter from Sucheava, Romania) 2. Mukacheve (enter from Kosice, Slovakia) 3. Uzhhorod ( enter from Kosice, Slovakia) You are also taking chances even there, but they have not been bombed yet, and it is unlikely there will be bombings there in the future unless there is a massive escalation. It is also easier to make a run for the border from there in case of real trouble.
@TetianaSim
@TetianaSim 3 месяца назад
Hi @vidong1704! Thanks for your concerns! Statistically speaking, Lviv has had around 20 war-related deaths since the invasion. Let's compare that to the city of Chicago (USA): Total annual gun-related deaths (2021): Estimated at 797 (according to the Chicago Police Department) Average daily gun-related deaths: 797/365 ≈ 2.18 per day Total annual fatal car accidents: 175 (according to the Illinois Department of Transportation) Tourism: Chicago sees around 50-60 million tourists annually. So, statistically, it's actually safer to go to the city of Lviv during the war than to the city of Chicago under normal circumstances.

6:00 Lviv will remain safe because moskals wants Lviv to become the new capital. Monkeypaw will give Ukraine it's EU and NATO membership, but it will be as another small Slavic nation.

Hi, May I share the most important news you will ever hear your whole entire life? God the Father sent His holy Son Jesus Christ(Y'shua Ha' Mashiach) from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin. He grew up and died on the cross for our sins. He was put into a tomb for 3 days, and then Abba Father raised Jesus to life and He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must all sincerely receive Jesus to be a true child of God. It says in John 1:12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." Will you genuinely believe on Christ Jesus and truly receive Him today, before it is too late?

@user-vj8tg1xz2x I practice my English and I like filming and photography. I was also curious if RU-vid so say 'works' and one can gain views. I also wanted to overcome the awkwardness of filming in public and hearing my voice.

Этот город всегда был унылым и скучным. Смотреть нечего по сути. Кроме как забегаловками и местечковыми ресторанчиками и занять себя нечем.
