I still think mini-pellets are better than akimbo. It's way easier to clear a path through the small bugs with double shots in front of you instead of half of them forward/half backwards. Let your other weapons take care of killing the masses and have the shotgun work to clear pathways/focus fire targets when needed.
Either works, I enjoy both, but not taking extra range was the big mistake. With the ricochet of plasma, extra range helps ensure each pellet reaches a target.
Still think electric is the best element. It staggers, increase crit, and does damage over time. Plasma’s bounce is not always effective. How about a run without any slow/cooling, sidearm support. Pure damage build. I would like to see how effective it is to have 4 knockback weapons in a no movement run. Pretty hard to get all 4 due to chance, but maybe try 3? Wonder if it’ll be effective.
the bounce over time is non-existent damage. you can test it out yourself with status effect electric run. the increase crit is poor because a dev revealed how it works. it increases crit per stack on enemy but issue is that stacks fall off too quickly to make a difference since they buffed interval of stacks falling off to make fire weapons more relevant on driller. The stagger is worse then freeze.
If the goal is to get every weapon to 18 you definitely need to spread out the leveling more versus focusing on them one at a time. It made it hard at the end where you had to get a plasma grenade every reroll and rng just wasn’t behaving
