Lydia's substance abuse, like so many others, began at a very early age and remained a constant struggle throughout her life. Addicted to several drugs from Heroin to Methamphetamine to painkillers, Lydia's addiction plagued her for years, causing multiple relapses as she tried again and again to get help. Really sorry to hear how Lydia's addiction started at such a young, vulnerable age. Lydia's story is an eye opener, especially for those raising children. It also let's us understand that substance abuse cuts across a variety of people and not just low lifers. For Lydia, it was normal for her as a little child to drink all leftover booze at her parents' parties, and she didn't realize it was getting to the point where she couldn't help herself but drink and then get high and she couldn't get enough. This is a case where something normal for her (thinking it was normal) was something that was actually quite bad for her, leading to her struggles with her addiction. Thankfully, she had managed to recover from it despite having several relapses.

I was once addicted to pain killers. I felt a self satisfaction and from the drug itself, it kept me away from physical pain. But once i stopped taking it, everything changed even my outlook in life.

Hmmmm... I see the carelessness from Lydia's family. Alcohol should also kept out of children reach because they will always want to imitate what we do as adults.
