The poor haters can't stand a girl that is TALENTED and BEAUTIFUL at the same time. Don't worry Lydia, you will have a great success in music, there is no need to win a singing show to proved it.
Be Enter, much better. She has an amazing voice and is very skilled with it. But it is easy to let your talent disconnect you from those listening. For the first time all series I think she got the balance right.
Lydia Lucy is awesome! His performances were different and very good. Talent, beauty and excellent rap; it has everything to succeed ... I would buy his album. I LOVE HER!
I thought this was Lydia's finest moment, with the technical showboating kept to an absolute minimum, leaving more room for emotion. I wasn't surprised that Lydia didn't make the final two. In the end she represented the belters on the show, but whilst she clearly has a great voice with bags of range and control she is not a classic toneful belter in the style of (for example) Ruth Brown. But for those who love her style and tone she is among the most accomplished singers this year, and I wish her all the best for the future.
+periurban Sorry, I have no idea what you mean about technical showboating, please don't try to blind people with science, we are not all stupid. A singer must perform to the max in this kind of competition, no holding back, you show your whole range or you don't make it. Lydia did a great job and Will clearly thinks a lot of her as he is helping her.
+stateofdreams1 blind people? Lol. The thing is if you focus too much on tricks and runs you can lose the connection to the audience and that is my problem with Lydia. Agree with peri!
stateofdreams1 See Anne C's reply here. Lydia has relied on her technical expertise and ability to get to the final. But she had (until now) solidly failed to connect fully with certain members of the audience (like me and Anne). We wanted her to warble and trill less and emote more, you know, slow down the delivery and pick out the emotional meaning of the song. Ultimately, her slightly thin tone and reliance on technical skills is what cost her the competition, but this performance was by far her best crack at making a wider appeal.
Here she sounds so much like Cher Lloyd... thinking of it her song choices and voice is really like Cher Lloyd. Love it! Most versatile artist on the show, sure to go far in the music industry! Excited for her debut single (if she will be signed of course).
She gives me this pop icon voice. She gives me life with these high notes 😍😭I couldn’t stop listening to her high notes. And the fact that she raps is even more better. She raps + sings = her in the charts and great performances.
this song means so much to me. I sang it to the love of my love and Lydia I thank you for bringing the memories back. I follow you from New Zealand and you have this song your own spin THANK YOU!!!!! YOU ARE MY FAVORITE SINGING SHOW CONTESTANT OF ALL TIME! You just made me love you more! trouble was my fav preforance but this topped it! THANK YOU! !!!!
Finally, the Voice UK has 4 solid finalists. If Will is serious about Lydia he should cut a dance track with her and get her some singing spots on edgy tracks similar to Jess Glynne's management. Better to do a slow soft launch so that another Voice finalist doesn't tank.
Even though Lydia didn't win, I'm glad Will was able to accomplish with her what he didn't with Brooklyn last year. Lydia simply has that great singing voice to go along with her rapping. While I was bitter when he got rid of Charley Blue, I can see why she decided to go all-in with Lydia.
+kbg12ila I agree she doesn't need another rapper like most rnb singers she can just pull it off solo in her very own rnb singles or whatever genre she is after
