Lydia Mendoza playing Flores Negras in Santa Barbara on April 27, 1986. Grabado por Yolanda Broyles-Gonzalez, all credit to her for making this unique recording.
I first saw Lydia in person in the early 1960's here in Houston. I knew about her even earlier, but it was a pleasure being in the same place in person.... Viva la musica y canciones grabada por Lydia.
todas las versiones me gustan pero esta con doce cuerdas me es especial inclusive soy cincuenton y nunca habia escuchado esta cantante ,,,,gracias por compartir
This is by far my favorite cover of this classic song which is surprising because Lydia was already elderly at the time of this recording but her talent is undeniable and just shines through this unique interpretation. She was truly one of the greats and a Tejana musical pioneer! RIP Alondra de la Frontera.
This version of “Flores Negras” is my favorite. p.86 - Historia de la musica popular Mexicana - Yolanda Moreno Rivas Flores Negras - cancion del cubano Sergio de Karlo
